ERIE, Pa. (Oct. 5, 2012) – Bloomsburg handed the Edinboro women's tennis team its first defeat of the season, 7-2, at the Westwood Racquet Club on Friday evening.

Rainy conditions forced the match from its originally scheduled time and location of early afternoon on the campus of Edinboro University. The two squads were able to finish the doubles portion of the contest at Edinboro before the rains came and caused a lengthy delay before moving inside. When competition resumed, Bloomsburg (1-0) dominated the majority of the action. RyAnne' Baldwin was the brightest spot of the day for the Fighting Scots (2-1) as she continued her strong play during the fall season. Baldwin first teamed with Kendal Stevens to defeat the Bloomsburg doubles team of Natalie Greenholt and Lindsey Tennis, 8-4.

Baldwin earned the lone Edinboro singles victory as well, defeating Aida Dioop, 6-2, 6-1.

The Fighting Scots return to action Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against East Stroudsburg.
