Women's Tennis Team Defeats Shippensburg 8-1

ERIE, Pa. – The Edinboro women's tennis team didn't let a little rain bother it this weekend.  The Fighting Scots hosted a trio of PSAC crossover matches and came away with a pair of wins.  They improved to 4-1 on Sunday morning with an 8-1 win over Shippensburg in a match that was moved to the Westwood Racquet Club due to the inclement weather.  Shippensburg is now 0-2.

The Fighting Scots did not lose a set in the match.  They opened the action with wins in two of the three double matches, as the tandems of Ryanne' Baldwin/Kendal Stephens and Oranza Carrillo/Jackie Piscsalko posted impressive 8-0 wins at number one and two doubles, respectively.

The Boro then went on to sweep all six singles matches, with Carrillo at number one and Stephens at number three winning by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Coach Lee Underwood's team returns to action on Wednesday, October 10 at Westminster.
