The Game Stories
-Edinboro opens the 2012-13 season against Penn State Greater Allegheny. It will mark the first of back-to-back games against Penn State branch campuses, as the Fighting Scots return to action on November 24, hosting Penn State Beaver. Edinboro comes off of a 13-13 finish a year ago and returns six letterwinners, including three starters.
-Penn State Greater Allegheny opend its season this past weekend, hosting the Penn State Greater Allegheny Tip-Off Classic. The Lions opened the year with a 91-51 win over Pitt-Titusville before falling 72-51 to Penn Highlands. Head coach Clyde Mann's team was 5-20 a year ago.
-Head coach Greg Walcavich begins his 24th season in charge of the Fighting Scots, showing a 412-241 record. Including stints at Birmingham Southern and West Virginia Wesleyan he is 566-304 overall as he starts his 31st season as a head coach.
-Edinboro looks to snap a two-game losing streak in season openers. A year ago the Fighting Scots suffered a 114-111 double overtime loss at Urbana, and in 2010-11 they also lost in overtime, 83-80 to Alderson-Broaddus.

-Edinboro leads 8-0
The Fighting Scots have won all previous eight meetings in the series, including a 92-61 decision a year ago at McComb Fieldhouse. The two teams met for the first time in 2004-05, with Edinboro claiming an 88-68 victory.

The Fighting Scots jumped out to a 55-29 lead in a game in which they never trailed. Four players scored in double figures for Edinboro, led by
Bryan Theriot with 19 points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes.
Clint Nicholson added 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Cory Somerville chipped in with 13 points and seven boards, and
Isaiah Prince had 11 markers. Robert Taylor led the Lions with 15 points, while Mike McCarthy had 14 points. Both players grabbed eight rebounds.

-Greg Walcavich, Edinboro -- begins his 24th season at the helm of the Fighting Scots and his 31st overall as a head coach. He has a 412-241 record at Edinboro and is 566-304 overall. Walcavich has also previously served as the head coach at Birmingham Southern and West Virginia Wesleyan.
-Clyde Mann, Penn State Greater Allegheny -- is in his sixth year in charge of the Lions. His squad was 5-20 a year ago, but he's hoping to return to the form the team showed in 2009-10, when PSUGA finished 14-12 and qualified for the PSUAC playoffs for the first time since 2006. He previously served as an assistant coach at LaRoche.
