EDINBORO – The women's tennis team got their 2012 season off to a great start Friday night, blanking visiting Frostburg State 9-0.
Edinboro (1-0) was led by sophomore
RyAnne' Baldwin who won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. She also teamed up with freshman
Jaclyn Piscsalko for a doubles win 8-3. Piscsalko meanwhile handled business in her first collegiate singles match taking the first set 6-0 before gritting out a 7-5 match-sealing win.
Oranza Carrillo also had a great day for Edinboro as she came out victorious 6-0, 6-2 in her singles match. Carrillo also saw action in doubles with freshman Kendal Stevens. The Carrillo-Stevens partnership worked out well for Edinboro as they won easily 8-3. Stephens followed her doubles victory with a 6-2, 6-2 straight-set win in her singles match.
Lydia Browne and
Margaret Erven earned default wins in singles, and as a team in doubles for the Fighting Scots, pushing the final match score to 9-0.

Lee Underwood's Fighting Scots must wait a week before returning to action in Bloomsburg for the PSAC Championships. The match scheduled for Saturday, September 8
