The Game Stories

} Edinboro not only looks to snap a two-game losing streak, but also to have something resembling a healthy roster.  The Fighting Scots, with just a ten-man roster to begin with, had managed to get by without Alex Moore, who has not played since the eighth game.  But over the last four games they've battled the flu, with Johnathan Logan and Jay Fletcher missing games, while Bryan Theriot and Fletcher have also gone done with injuries.  Several others have kept the training room busy, as well.  Moore, meanwhile, has now missed the last six games.
} The Fighting Scots come in with a 9-5 record and are 5-5 in thye PSAC West.  They won five of eight games against the Eastern Division, but have lost to California(Pa.) and Gannon i n the Western Division.
} Edinboro is in the midst of a stretch of five home games in six contests.  The Fighting Scots just concluded a three-game homestand, and following the trip to Lock Haven they face a brutal week with home games against Indiana(Pa.) and Slippery Rock, the co-leaders in the PSAC West.
} Head coach Greg Walcavich is in his 24th season in charge of the Fighting Scots, showing a 421-246 record.  Including stints at Birmingham Southern and West Virginia Wesleyan he is 575-309 overall as he is in his 31st season as a head coach.
} After finishing 0-25 last year, Lock Haven has a 5-8 record and is 3-7 in the PSAC West.  The Bald Eagles snapped a 44-game losing streak at the beginning of the year, and haven't won six games in a season since the 2009-10 team went 6-19.  The last time Lock Haven won more than six games was 2006-07 (12-15).
} The Edinboro-Lock Haven contest features the top two scoring offenses in the PSAC, as Edinboro comes in averaging 79.5 ppg. and Lock Haven 78.2 ppg.  The game could also showcase two of the top four scorers in the league, with Lock Haven guard Wali Hepburn pacing the conference in scoring at 23.8 ppg., and Bryan Theriot fourth at 20.4 ppg.
} Edinboro was picked to finish fourth in the PSAC West.  Lock Haven, meanwhile, is probably the biggest surprise in the PSAC West along with Mercyhurst, winning five more games than it did last year.  The Bald Eagles were voted to finish eighth.
