Fighting Scots Tie at No. 15 Gannon, 1-1

Box Score (New/Sortable Format) ERIE, Pa. (October 16, 2013) – 110 minutes of action was not enough to decide a winner as the Edinboro women's soccer team tied No. 15 Gannon on the road 1-1. The tie is each team's first of the season, as the Fighting Scots go to 9-3-1 overall and 7-3-1 in the PSAC while the Lady Knights now sit at 8-3-1 overall and in conference.

The Fighting Scots got out to an early 1-0 lead when Allyson Overly connected for her third goal of the season less than 15 minutes into the game. Liz Debo was credited with an assist.

In the second half, Gannon responded with a goal from Michelle Genetin for her fifth of the season. The PSAC's leader in points and assists Mani Brueckner picked up an assist on the goal, her 13th assist of the year. She has now registered a point in three straight games.

With the game tied at the end of regulation, the teams played 20 more minutes of action but the overtimes did not yield anymore goals. Gannon registered the only shot on goal in the overtime periods. Edinboro only had one shot on goal over the final 82 minutes of the game.

Edinboro will return to action on Saturday, October 19 when they host Mercyhurst. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium as the Fighting Scots will look to extend their current undefeated streak of seven games.
