Liz Debo found the net twice to lead the Fighting Scots to a 3-1 defeat of local-rival Mercyhurst on Saturday, October 19 at Sox Harrison Stadium. Edinboro improves to 10-3-1 and 8-3-1 in the PSAC, while Mercyhurst drops to 6-7-1 and 5-6-1 in conference play.
Becca Costello gave the Fighting Scots a 1-0 advantage on a penalty kick ten minutes into the first period. Debo scored her first of two goals late in the first half to build a 2-0 lead over the Lakers heading into halftime. The Edinboro defense provided a stellar performance in the first half, not allowing Mercyhurst to attempt a single shot.
The Scots added to their lead late in the second half, as Debo connected on a breakaway goal to the top of the net, giving Edinboro a 3-0 lead.
The Lakers did not go away, as Perrin Kern scored on an assist by Janine Wong on a corner kick with three minutes remaining in the contest. However, the Scots' two-goal lead proved to be enough as Edinboro held on for the 3-1 PSAC triumph.
The Fighting Scots return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 22 as they travel to Kutztown. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. against the Golden Bears.

· Debo paces the Fighting Scots with nine goals on the year after a pair of goals on Saturday afternoon.
· Despite not recording a shot in the first half, Mercyhurst outshot Edinboro in the second period, 7-6.
· The Fighting Scots improve their home record to 7-1 on the season.
