Fighting Scots Take on Pitt-Johnstown for Homecoming

On Friday, October 4 at 4:00 p.m. the Edinboro women's soccer team will be hosting Pitt-Johnstown for Homecoming. The Fighting Scots are 6-3-0 overall, 4-3-0 in the PSAC while the Lady Cats are winless this season, 0-8-0 overall and in conference.

Edinboro is riding a three-game winning streak. Their latest victory came against Seton Hill, 3-1 on the road. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Allyson Overly tied the game shortly into the beginning of the second half. Alex Brown continued her strong freshman campaign by adding the decisive goal and an insurance goal. It was Brown's second multi-goal game of the season.

Brown and Liz Debo are tied for the team lead in goals and points. Each has five goals and ten points, and they have scored five of the teams last nine goals. Meghan Kelly now has a 6-3-0 record with a 1.14 goals against average. She is tied for the school record of 25 wins.

Pitt-Johnstown is having a difficult first season in the PSAC. They have lost all eight of their matches and are currently on an 11-game losing streak. They are being outscored 32-1 and are the only team in the conference to allow more than 18 goals on the season. Their lone goal came from senior forward Jackie Becerra. The Lady Cats have had multiple goalies play this season, but have primarily gone with Leeann Gorman in net. She is 0-6-0 on the year with a 2.99 goals against average. Her 62 saves are third in the PSAC.

This is the first ever meeting between these two schools. This is also the second consecutive game in which Edinboro has played a team in its first year in the PSAC.
