HEAD COACHES
Edinboro: Pat Cleary (Edinboro '99)
Record at Edinboro: 1-0, 1st year
Career Record: 1-0, 1st year

Pat Cleary (Edinboro '99) is in his first year as head coach of the Fighting Scots, taking over for his predecessor Greg Walcavich, who spent 24 years at the helm of the Edinboro program. Cleary previously worked as an assistant under Walcavich for 16 years, first as a student aide before becoming a full-time assistant coach. He is credited for recruiting many of Edinboro's top contributors in recent years. The first-year head coach takes over a team that finished 18-10 a year ago and reached the PSAC Tournament Semifinals. Cleary earned his first career coaching victory in the Scots' 66-48 triumph over Thiel on Monday night.

Penn State Greater Allegheny: Clyde Manns (Pitt Greensburg '00)
Record at Penn State Greater Allegheny: NA, 6th year
Career Record: NA, 6th year

Clyde Manns (Pitt Greensburg '00) is in his sixth year in charge of the Lions program. Greater Allegheny finished 7-17 last season, but Manns hopes for the Lions to reach their level of success in the 2009-10 season, when they finished 14-12 and qualified for the PSUAC playoffs. He previously worked as an assistant coach at LaRoche College for six seasons, helping the Redhawks to an AMCC title in 2004.

THE GAME STORIES
-The Fighting Scots opened the 2013-14 campaign with a 66-48 victory over Thiel on Monday night at McComb Fieldhouse. Edinboro jumped out to an early 17-2 lead and never looked back. Three Fighting Scots players scored in double-figures, led by Bryan Theriot and Jonny Marsh with 12 markers apiece. Theriot also pulled down seven rebounds on the night. Henri Wade-Chatman recorded 11 points, while Xavier Churnac tabbed a career-high 10 boards.

-Edinboro first-year head coach Pat Cleary earned his first career victory in the Scots' win over Thiel. Cleary took over the reins of the Edinboro program after 24-year head coach Greg Walcavich retired after last season. Cleary spent 16 years as an assistant under Walcavich before assuming his current role. Walcavich held a 584-313 overall record in his 31 seasons as a head coach, including a 431-250 record with the Fighting Scots.

-Penn State Greater Allegheny comes into today's contest with an 0-3 record on the season. The Lions fell to Southern State and Penn State Fayette last weekend, before dropping an 83-49 decision to PSAC member California (Pa.) on Tuesday night. The Lions are led by Petrie Addison and Nick Dizon, two of the top players in the PSUAC. Addison is averaging 18.3 ppg. and 9.7 rpg., while Dizon enters at 15 points per contest and 9.3 rpg. Aaron Byrd is a three-time All-PSUAC performer who averaged 11.5 points and 7.8 rebounds in 2012-13.

-Edinboro enters the season with several veteran players with a great deal of experience. The Fighting Scots return leading scorer and first-team All-PSAC selection Bryan Theriot, who is regarded as one of the best big men in the conference. Theriot averaged 18.1 points and 8.9 rebounds last season. Edinboro also welcomes back seniors Johnathan Logan and Xavier Churnac, both players who helped the Scots reach the PSAC semifinals a year ago.

-The Fighting Scots must replace their all-PSAC backcourt of Isaiah Prince and Jay Fletcher from last season. Edinboro will look to newcomers Jonny Marsh and Henri-Wade Chatman to fill the void left by Prince and Fletcher. Marsh, a transfer from Niagra County Community College, had a 12-point, four assist-effort in the season opener against Thiel. Wade-Chatman is a Community College of Allegheny County transfer who posted 11 markers in Monday's game.
