Three Fighting Scots scored in double-figures led by Gilmore Cumming's 15 markers to give Edinboro an 86-59 victory to open the 2007-08 season at McComb Fieldhouse. Joseph Jones added 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds, while Ryan McLemore chipped in 10 points. Josh Robinson led the Lions with
19 points, followed by Zack Ziemanski with 12.

Pat Cleary (
Edinboro '99) is in his first year as head coach of the Fighting Scots, taking over for his predecessor Greg Walcavich, who spent 24 years at the helm of the Edinboro program. Cleary previously worked as an assistant under Walcavich for 16 years, first as a student aide before becoming a full-time assistant coach. He is credited for recruiting many of Edinboro's top contributors in recent years. The first-year head coach takes over a team that finished 18-10 a year ago and reached the PSAC Tournament Semifinals. Cleary has led the Fighting Scots to a 3-1 record so far this season with wins over Thiel, Penn State Greater Allegheny, and Urbana.

Arthur McCray, Jr., Penn State New Kensington is also in his first year in charge of the PSU New Kensington program. He earned his first career college coaching victory in the Lion's 76-60 win over CCAC Boyce last Thursday. McCray is a graduate of PSU New Kensington and a former player for the Lions. He was previously the head coach at Summit Academy in Butler, Pa. McCray compiled a 39-31 record and two section titles in two seasons at Summit Academy.

Bryan Theriot (C, 6-9, Sr.) – earned first team All-PSAC West accolades a year ago after averaging 18.1 ppg. and 8.9 rpg. Was named a preseason All-PSAC choice. Shot 55.4 percent from the floor and 87.2 percent at the line. Averaging 12.0 ppg. and 7.0 rpg through two games this season…Is just 21 points shy of 1,000 for his career after scoring 26 points in Edinboro's 91-87 loss at Pitt-Johnstown
on Saturday. Theriot also surpassed the 500 career rebound mark with 10 boards against the Mountain Cats.
Jonny Marsh (G, 6-0, Jr.) – is a first-year player for the Fighting Scots after transferring from Niagara County Comm. College. Earned PSAC West Player of the Week honors after posting back-to-back 30-plus point games last week. The junior poured in a season-high 34 points in Edinboro's win at Urbana last Monday, before recording 30 markers in the Scots' loss at Pitt-Johnstown
Saturday afternoon. Earned first-team all-region honors at NCCC in 2012-13, averaging 16.9 ppg and made 82 of 193 3-pointers. Leads the Fighting Scots in scoring, averaging 21.0 points per game.

THE GAME STORIES
• Edinboro returns home to face non-conference opponent Penn State New Kensington after the Fighting Scots suffered their first loss of the year on Saturday afternoon at Pitt-Johnstown, 91-87. The game also marked the first PSAC West matchup of the year for the Fighting Scots. The Lions are coming off a victory in their season opener last Thursday in which they defeated CCAC Boyce, 76-60.
• Penn State New Kensington is the last non-PSAC foe the Fighting Scots will face this season. Edinboro concludes the season with 22 contests against PSAC teams followingTuesday night. The Fighting Scots are 15-4 in games against non-conference opponents since the start of the 2010-11 season.

Bryan Theriot needs just 21 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career. The center eclipsed 500 career rebounds in the Scots' loss at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday afternoon. Theriot posted 26 points and 10 rebounds in the game, giving him 979 points and 503 boards for his career. The center can become just the 15th player in Fighting Scot men's basketball history with at least 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds. The last player to accomplish this feat was Daren Tielsch, who played from 2004-07 and tallied 1,377 career points and 739 career boards.
