Box Score (New/Sortable Format) EDINBORO, Pa. (December 18, 2013) – Twelfth-ranked East Stroudsburg stormed into McComb Fieldhouse and handed the Fighting Scots a 102-69 loss on Wednesday night. The red-hot Warriors shot 61 percent from the field, including 11 of 23 from behind the arc en route to their tenth win of the season. East Stroudsburg improved to 10-0, while Edinboro falls to 5-4 for the year.
After an evenly-played first half, East Stroudsburg held a slim six point advantage at 43-37 at the break. However, the Warriors came out firing to start the second period, using a 20-8 run to gain an 18-point lead with 13:36 to play.
East Stroudsburg connected on its first six attempts of the second period and made 9 of 12 shots from three during the run.
The Fighting Scots surrendered five of their nine second half turnovers in that span, resulting in eight Warrior points. East Stroudsburg garnered 25 points off Edinboro's 16 turnovers on the night.
The Scots could not come within any closer than 18 points for the remainder of the game, as the Warriors built a lead as large as 35 with just 36 seconds remaining.
Bryan Theriot led all scorers in the contest with 23 points on 10 of 16 shooting for the night. The senior also grabbed a game-high eight boards.
Henri Wade-Chatman added 18 markers, including six of seven shots from the free throw line.
The Warriors used a balance offensive attack, as 14 East Stroudsburg players scored in the game. Matt Tobin paced East Stroudsburg with 18 points off the bench, followed by Whis Grant with 12 and Jamal Nwaniemeka with 11.
The two teams came into the game as the two highest-scoring offenses in the PSAC, as East Stroudsburg ranked first at 90.9 points per game, while the Fighting Scots were averaging 85.4 points per contest.
In the first half, both teams shot efficiently from the field, with Edinboro hitting at 59.3 percent, while the Warriors shot 58.6 percent in the opening period.
The first half saw six lead changes, while the score was knotted once.
The Warriors' bench outscored Edinboro's reserves 59-10 for the night. The Fighting Scots also did not make a three-point basket in the contest on five attempts.
Edinboro returns to action on Saturday on the road at West Chester. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. The 6-4 Rams are coming off back-to-back losses against PSAC West opponents California (Pa.) and Slippery Rock.
