Cody Harris

EDINBORO, Pa. (Aug. 1, 2013) – Edinboro University quarterback Cody Harris (Waldo, OH/Marion Pleasant) is ranked among the top players in Division II according to D2Football.com.  D2Football.com is releasing its Top 100 Division II Players for 2013, with Harris being ranked 93rd.

Josh Buchanon coordinates D2Football.com's awards and has come up with the player rankings.  D2Football.com has released players 81 to 100 so far and will be announcing more rankings in the coming days.  That will be followed by its preseason all-conference and All-America teams.

Harris was named a second team All-PSAC West pick for the second straight year in 2012 after enjoying one of the top seasons in school history by a quarterback.   The 6'0", 200 lb. senior completed 245 of 368 passes for 2,823 yards with 20 TDs and 8 INTs.  He also ranked second on the team in rushing with 219 yards on 143 carries with 9 TDs, a school-record for quarterbacks.  All told, he accounted for 29 of Edinboro's 34 offensive touchdowns.

Harris' 3,042 yards in total offense ranked 16th in Division II and was good for the third-highest total in school history, as was his passing yardage figure.  His completions and attempts were also third in a season.  He ranked 32nd in passing efficiency in Division II.  All told, Harris threw for 300-or-more yards in four games, including a career-high 460 yards, the second-highest figure in school history, at Clarion.  He added 14 yards rushing for 474 total yards, which also ranks second all-time, and he tied the school record with five touchdown passes and ran for a sixth.

Harris enters his season campaign ranking in the top five in virtually every career passing category.   While starting all 31 games in his career, he ranks fourth in career passing yards (6,595) and is also fourth in career total offense (7,070 yards).  In addition, he stands first in career completion percentage (67.7), second in career completions (592), fourth in career attempts (874), and sixth in career touchdowns passing (47).

Edinboro opens the 2013 campaign on Thursday, September 5 at Walsh.
