THE GAME STORY
The Edinboro women's soccer team continues its home stand on Wednesday, September 11 against the Daemen Wildcats. The Fighting Scots look to knock the Wildcats from the unbeaten ranks as they come in at 2-0.

The Fighting Scots opened the season with a 2-1 loss to Millersville, but rebounded with a 3-0 win against Shippensburg in the home opener last Saturday. The victory extended their winning streak in home openers to five. Edinboro's four goals in the first two contests ranks sixth in the conference.

Daemen is off to a strong start as it seeks its fourth consecutive winning season under head coach Dan Dolan. The victories over Alderson-Broaddus (4-0) and Maine-Fort Kent (2-0) have the Wildcats standing at 2-0, with six goals scored and none allowed. The Wildcats key two players so far have been senior forward Kacey Bougard and freshman goalkeeper Kathryn Haessner. Bougard leads the team with three goals and seven points, while Bougard has been stellar in net, saving 17 shots and while posting back-to-back shutouts.

Last season was the second consecutive year the Fighting Scots made the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Gary Kagiavas continues his success at Edinboro, most notably at home where the team has a 23-5-1 record since 2010.

The Fighting Scots return their leading scorer from last season, junior forward Liz Debo. Debo is already off to a good start, with one goal and one assist so far. Allyson Overly, Ashley DeVito, and Alex Brown have also all scored once. Goalkeeper Meghan Kelly had her 11th career shutout against Shippensburg, putting her into a tie for third place all-time. She is now in the top three all-time at Edinboro in three statistical categories.

The contest marks the first game between the two teams since 2008. Edinboro has won both previous meetings and will look to stay unbeaten against Daemen on Wednesday.
