THE GAME STORY
In the final game of its four game home stand, the Edinboro women's soccer team hosts Slippery Rock on Wednesday, September 18. The Fighting Scots are 3-1-0 on the season, with all three of those victories coming at home. The Rock comes in at 1-1-1.

Edinboro comes into the game 6-0-1 in its last seven home matches. They played two matches last week, defeating Daemen and Lake Erie by scores of 1-0 and 4-0, respectively. The Fighting Scots come into the game fourth in the conference in goal differential (+7).

Slippery Rock came into the season ranked highly despite losing their top two in points from last year. Their 1-1-1 start is their worse over the last decade, but they are still ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region. The young team is currently led in points by two freshmen, Andrea Felix and Dara Demich. Felix's five points in three games has her second in the conference in points per game. In net they have senior Dana O'Neill, who currently has a 0.93 goals against average after finishing fourth in the conference in that statistic a year ago.

Freshman forward Alex Brown is currently leading the Fighting Scots in goals and points. Her three goals in two games are second in the conference in goals per game. Junior midfielder Becca Costello has also scored her two goals of the season in back-to-back games, and sophomore forward Jansen Hartmann now has a trio of assists on the season. Junior Meghan Kelly has stellar as the Fighting Scots goalie thus far. She is now only three wins away from tying the Edinboro career record.

Edinboro comes into the match ranked seventh in the Atlantic Region. Against The Rock, the Fighting Scots are 3-17-6 overall. Last season, they met in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and lost in penalty kicks, 4-2. Since 2007, Edinboro is 1-5-4 against Slippery Rock with their only victory coming in 2009.
