EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro women's soccer team struck for three quick goals and went on to a 3-0 win over Shippensburg on Saturday afternoon at Sox Harrison Stadium.  The win in the home opener evened Edinboro's record at 1-1-0 overall and in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action, while Shippensburg is also 1-1-0 and 0-1-0 in the PSAC.

Edinboro opened the scoring quickly when Ally Overly converted a Shippensburg turnover into a goal just three minutes into the contest.  The junior's shot from 30 yards out when over the outstretched arms of goalkeeper Shelbie Rackley into the top left corner of the net.

The Fighting Scots boosted their lead to 2-0 on a similar goal at the 17:36 mark.  Ashley DeVito registered her first goal of the season off a pass from Liz Debo, once again the goal going over Rackley's arms into the top left corner.

Last year's leading scorer, Liz Debo, notched her first of the season at 22:25 to give Edinboro a 3-0 advantage.  Debo's unassisted goal came from the top of the box over Rackley's head.

Edinboro ended the match with a 13-5 edge in shots, as goalkeeper Meghan Kelly was never really challenged.  The junior would end with three saves.

The Fighting Scots are back in action on Wednesday, September 11 hosting Daemen in a non-conference match that gets underway at 6 p.m.
