Fighting Scots Secure First PSAC West Victory at Clarion, 81-74

The Fighting Scots held their largest lead of the game of 17 points on two occasions, the last coming at the 16:01 mark of the second half on a Moore dunk.

The Golden Eagles answered with a 15-2 run to cut the Scots' advantage to four, 50-46 with 12:16 left in the game.

The Fighting Scots built their lead back to 12 at the 9:35 mark with an 8-0 run keyed once again by Logan. He scored seven of the eight points during the run, including a three-point basket and a dunk.

Clarion scored seven straight points to minimize the Edinboro lead to 58-53 with just over eight minutes to play, but the Golden Eagles could not move any closer than five points for the remainder of the contest.

Edinboro won the battle on the glass, outrebounding Clarion, 47-27 including 19-3 on offensive boards. The 20-rebound margin represents the largest for the Fighting Scots since Edinboro outdueled Penn State Greater Allegheny in the rebounding column, 60-31 on November 15, a 29-rebound margin.

The Fighting Scots outscored Clarion in the paint, 38-20, with 22 of those points coming in the first half.

Edinboro now has time to rest with a week until its next game, when the Fighting Scots host Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday, February 1. Tip-off against the Mountain Cats is set for 3 p.m. from McComb Fieldhouse.
