Liz Debo is coming off a record-setting performance. The senior forward celebrated Senior Day against Mansfield last Saturday with two goals in the 6-3 victory. Debo now holds the school record for career goals (39), surpassing assistant coach
Jamie Sallie (formerly Jamie Tekotte). The North Huntingdon, Pa. native now has her eyes set on one more school record. Debo is six points away from tying Nicole Vlahovic for the most points in school history at 90. This season she has scored six goals with two assists for 14 points.
Debo was not the only player to enter the record books last Saturday.
Ashley Mutkus scored four goals in the contest which tied Alyssa Murosky's single-game record. The freshman forward is now up to six goals on the season.
Jansen Hartmann has paced the Scots in scoring this season. The junior midfielder/forward has totaled five goals and five assists for 15 points. Hartmann has recorded at least one point in seven of the last eight games.
Meghan Kelly continued to pad her career records. The senior goalkeeper holds the school records for wins (39) and shutouts (3). This season she has a 1.03 goals against average while stopping 73.7 percent of the shots she has faced.
Andrea Felix leads Slippery Rock with eight assists and 18 points. The sophomore forward has also scored five goals and is tied for second in the PSAC in points scored. Felix has already cracked the Slippery Rock career record books as she is tied for 16
th in career points (43) and 13
th in assists (13). The second team All-PSAC, first team Daktronics All-Atlantic Region, and honorable mention Daktronics All-American honoree last year tallied the first goal in the 2-1 victory over Edinboro in 2013.
Annabelle Hegeman has been stellar in her first full season as a starter. The sophomore goalkeeper holds a 9-3-1 record with a 0.64 goals against average, good for fifth in the PSAC.
Slippery Rock enters the game ranked fifth in the NSCAA Atlantic Regional Rankings while Edinboro is sixth. These two teams are tied for fifth in the PSAC standings with 25 points each.
The Rock holds a 16-3-7 advantage in the series. Slippery Rock has not lost to Edinboro in the last four contests (2-0-2) and has never lost in Edinboro (8-0-4). The Rock scored two goals in a one minute and eight second span last season at Sox Harrison Stadium to take an early 2-0 lead. Debo found the net in the 53
rd minute but Edinboro was unable to score the equalizer, falling 2-1.
The Fighting Scots need to win just one of their last three PSAC games and have Millersville lose one conference game for the Scots to clinch a playoff spot. That will not come easy though as Edinboro's remaining schedule features three teams in the top five of the PSAC standings in Slippery Rock, California (Pa.), and Kutztown.
