Edinboro Travels to Notre Dame (Ohio) For Pivotal Atlantic Region Bout

EDINBORO, Pa. (October 31, 2014) - The Edinboro women's soccer team hits the road for its final regular season game of the season on Saturday, November 1. The Fighting Scots travel to South Euclid, Ohio to take on Notre Dame (Ohio) for a 3:00 p.m. match. The Falcons enter the contest ranked second in the NCAA Atlantic Regional rankings with a 12-1-2 overall record. Edinboro is unranked in the NCAA regional rankings and holds a 9-6-2 record.

The Fighting Scots clinched a PSAC Tournament berth in their last outing on Tuesday with a 2-1 upset of No. 18 Kutztown. Edinboro is locked into the sixth seed and awaiting to see who they play in the first round. The Scots could possibly play three teams in Kutztown, California (Pa.), and Slippery Rock pending the results of tomorrow's games.

Edinboro is led by Jansen Hartmann. The junior midfielder/forward paces the way with six goals and five assists for 17 points, all career-highs.

Liz Debo is the school's all-time leader in goals scored. The senior forward has tallied six goals this year to push her career total to 39. Debo is six points away from tying Nicole Vlahovic for first in school history in points.

Meghan Kelly remains in net for the Fighting Scots. The senior goalkeeper is looking for her third straight season with double-digit wins. Kelly is 9-6-1 this season with a 1.02 goals against average (GAA). She entered the week with 1598 minutes, the 10th most in the nation for goalies.

Alexis Manoa leads Notre Dame (Ohio) in scoring. The sophomore forward has tallied eight goals and 10 assists for 26 points. The Bowling Green transfer is in her first season with the Falcons.

Goalkeeper Samantha Shoemaker enters the game with a .326 GAA, seventh-best in the nation. She is 11-0-2 this year with six shutouts.

The top six teams from each region make the NCAA Tournament. Edinboro's victory against No. 18 Kutztown earlier this week helped to build the Fighting Scots postseason résumé. A win against the Falcons would help further solidify the chances of the Fighting Scots making their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

Edinboro will play its first PSAC Tournament game on Tuesday, November 4. The PSAC will announce tournament specifics on Sunday, November 2.
