Box Score (New/Sortable Format) SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (Nov. 1, 2014) – The Edinboro women's soccer team posted its second big upset of the week on Saturday afternoon, further enhancing a potential fourth straight NCAA playoff bid. The Fighting Scots upended host Notre Dame (Oh.) 1-0 to conclude the regular season. Edinboro improved to 10-6-2 while the Falcons tasted defeat for just the second time and are now 12-2-2.
 

Earlier in the week Edinboro recorded a 2-1 win at Kutztown. The win not only clinched a PSAC playoff berth for the Fighting Scots but came against a Golden Bears team ranked fourth in the Atlantic Region. Now comes the victory over a Notre Dame (Oh.) team that was second in the region. Edinboro will return to action on Tuesday, November 4 playing at Kutztown in the first round of the PSAC Tournament.
 
The lone goal of the match came courtesy of senior Becca Costello on a penalty kick at 65:06. It was her third goal of the senior, as she beat goalkeeper Samantha Shoemaker.
 
Meghan Kelly made that goal stand up as the senior goalkeeper posted her 21st career shutout. She finished with two saves. Edinboro held a big 20-6 advantage in shots, including 11-2 over the final 45 minutes.
