Season Recap
-Edinboro enters the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional with a 21-12 record. The Fighting Scots finished at 12-10 in the PSAC West and came in sixth in the division. They come into regional play having lost three of their last four matches and five of the past seven, but all of the losses are to teams participating in the Atlantic Regional. Four of the losses came in four sets and the fifth was a five-set match to Gannon. Oddly enough, in all but the last match, a four-set defeat at Clarion, Edinboro won the first game. The Fighting Scots opened the season with a rush. After a pair of wins they lost twice for a 2-2 ledger. Edinboro would run off ten straight wins, the longest winning streak since the 2010 Fighting Scots won 16 consecutive matches. The tenth straight win came in four games over Mercyhurst. The next day Gannon would snap the streak in three games. They would later enjoy a four match winning streak before facing Clarion for the first time. Edinboro has played most of the season without Megan Branchick. The 6'1" junior was a second team All-PSAC West selection last year and Edinboro's top blocker. She played in just two sets this year before going down with an injury.

Edinboro in the NCAA Tournament
Edinboro is making its 16th appearance in the NCAA Playoffs, and has an overall record of 17-11. This marks Edinboro's first appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament since 2011, when Edinboro defeated Gannon in four games in the first round before falling to California(Pa.) in three games in the semifinals. This marks the seventh NCAA playoff appearance under head coach Missy Soboloeski, who is completing her tenth season at Edinboro. Edinboro is in search of its fifth trip to the Elite Eight. The Fighting Scots last won the regional in 2002, and also reached the national quarterfinals in 1994, 1996, and 1998. The Fighting Scots made eight straight Atlantic Regional appearances from 1996-2003. Edinboro missed the NCAA Tournament just three times in 18 seasons from 1994-2011.

Head Coach Missy Soboleski
Missy Soboleski is completing her tenth season as the head coach at Edinboro. She has compiled a 225-123 record during that period, leading the Fighting Scots to seven NCAA tournament appearances and six PSAC playoff berths. Soboleski has led the Fighting Scots to 20-or-more wins seven times, including this year's 21-12 record. Her 2010 edition finished with a 30-6 record, just the fifth 30-win campaign in school history. Soboleski also served as the head coach at Mercyhurst for six seasons and coached at her alma mater Gannon for four seasons. All told, her career record is 358- 311 in 20 seasons as a head coach, with eight NCAA playoff appearances and nine 20-win seasons.
