The Fighting Scots will be coming off a 10-day hiatus following a close 67-65 loss at the hands of local PSAC West rival Mercyhurst on December 6 at McComb Fieldhouse. Edinboro now sits at 3-4 overall and 1-3 in PSAC West play. The Fighting Scots dropped their last two games by a combined six points against the Lakers and in a 69-65 defeat at Slippery Rock. • Edinboro leads the PSAC in scoring at 86.6 points per game while ranking fifth in the conference in field goal percentage defense (.406) and fourth in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.391). The Fighting Scots also rank third in the PSAC with a +3.57 turnover margin and pace the conference with a +1.55 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• Jaymon Mason was named the PSAC West Freshman of the Week for the second time this season for the week ending December 7. He averaged 16.5 points in two games during the week, including a 21-point performance to go along with a career-high seven rebounds in Edinboro's narrow 69-67 loss to visiting Mercyhurst on Saturday. The 6'2'' guard added 12 markers against Slippery Rock on Wednesday night. Mason has now scored in double-figures in six consecutive games. He was a perfect 9 of 9 from the free throw line against Mercyhurst and made 2 of 2 shots from the charity stripe at Slippery Rock. The Edinboro native ranks second in the PSAC in free throw shooting percentage at 88.9 percent (32 of 36) and has now made 21 consecutive free throws, with his last miss coming against California (Pa.) on Nov. 22. The Fighting Scots record for most consecutive free throws is 38, set by Ken Gurber during the 1961-62 season. Edinboro's Bryan Theriot made 36 consecutive free throws last season, falling just two shy of the school record. Mason sits second on the team in scoring at 13.3 points per game, while averaging a team-high 2.7 assists per game to go along with 3.3 rebounds per contest.
• Henri Wade-Chatman currently ranks second the conference in scoring at 18.9 points per game. He recorded a career-high 30-points in the Fighting Scots' 89-64 win over Seton Hill. The 6'2'' junior also tallied 25 points against Slippery Rock Wade-Chatman leads the conference with 3.3 three-point field goals per game, ranks eighth in the PSAC with a .451 three-point shooting percentage and is 11th in the conference with a .456 field goal percentage. Jaymon Mason sits second in the PSAC with an .889 free throw percentage. Tommy Scales is 14th in the PSAC in rebouding at 6.9 boards per contest, followed by Casey Baker at 17th in the conference at 6.6 rebounds per game. Baker recently surpassed 500 career rebounds in the Fighting Scots' 102-62 win over Penn State Greater Allegheny. The senior transfer from Urbana now has 537 career boards. Sam Sealy-James ranks second in the PSAC at 2.0 blocks per game.
• The Fighting Scots will play the role of underdog this season, as Edinboro was picked to once again finish eighth in the PSAC West according to the 2014-15 PSAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released on October 30. Cheyney was picked to finish ninth in the PSAC Eastern Division, while Millersville was selected sixth.

Cheyney leads 13-10: The Wolves hold a 13-10 in the teams' all-time series dating back to the 1965-66 season. Edinboro and Cheyney have split the last ten meetings between the teams, with the Fighting Scots picking up victories in two of the last three seasons.

Millersville leads 16-6: The Marauders have won eight of the last 10 and four of the last five meetings with the Fighting Scots, as Millersville owns a 16-6 advantage in the teams' all-time series dating back to the 1985-86 campaign.

January 5, 2014 - Edinboro 69, Cheyney 65: The Fighting Scots snapped a three-game skid with a 69-65 road victory over PSAC East foe Cheyney. Edinboro held a 61-45 advantage with 6:55 to play, before the Wolves constructed a 14-0 run to cut the Fighting Scot lead to two at 61-59 with 2:35 remaining. Edinboro would sink all six of its free throw attempts down the stretch to seal the win. Bryan Theriot poured in 25 points on the afternoon, one shy of his season-high of 26 markers in a loss at Pitt-Johnstown. The 6'9'' center connected on 7 of 12 field goals and 11 of 16 frees throws in the win. He also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds for the Fighting Scots. Jonny Marsh connected on 4 of 5 3-pointers and finished with 16 points, while Henri Wade-Chatman added nine markers. DeShawn Curtis paced Cheyney with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Jerrod Johnson and Calvin Brown added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
January 4, 2014- Millersville 91, Edinboro 63: Edinboro opened its 2014 portion of the schedule with a 91-63 loss at the hands of a hot-shooting Millersville team, as the Marauders tied a school record with 17 made 3-pointers in the PSAC Crossover contest. Bryan Theriot scored a team-high 21 points for the Scots, connecting on 9 of 12 shots from the field and chipping in a game-high nine rebounds in the contest. Jonny Marsh added 15 points for the afternoon. Tavon Parker tallied 23 points off the bench for the Marauders on 7 of 10 shooting from long range. Jalen Lester recorded 12 markers, while Kyle Richardson had 10 points for Millersville. Edinboro opened the game making just 1 of 11 field goal attempts and Millersville hit nine first-half 3-pointers to take a 44-20 lead at haltime. The Marauders led by as many as 42 points with 9:31 to play in the contest. The Fighting Scots improved their shooting in the second half, hitting at 48.5 percent from the field, but could not overcome a slow start and Millersville's success from behind the arc, as Edinboro shot 26.5 percent in the first half. The Marauders made 17 of 33 3-pointers, good for 51.5 percent.
The Coaches
Edinboro - Pat Cleary (Edinboro '99) Cleary is in his second year as head coach of the Fighting Scots, leading Edinboro to an 13-20 record in that time. Cleary took over for his predecessor Greg Walcavich, who spent 24 years at the helm of the Edinboro program. Cleary previously worked as an assistant under Walcavich for 16 years, first as a student aide before becoming a full-time assistant coach. Cheyney- Dominique Stephens (North Carolina Central '92): Stephens is in his seventh year at the helm of the Cheyney program, owning a 75-96 ledger in that time. He led the Wolves to a PSAC postseason berth during the 2008-09 season as Cheyney's interim head coach after previously serving as an assistant coach for five seasons at Cheyney under Cleo Hill Jr. A graduate of North Carolina Central University, Stephens was part of an NCAA Division II national championship team during his junior campaign. A native of Philadelphia, Stephens played alongside future Loyola Marymount standouts Bo Kimble and Hank Gathers at Dobbins High School.
Millersville - Fred Thompson (Louisiana at Monroe '90): Thompson ranks third in program history at Millersville in career coaching wins, showing a career record of 256-202 in 17 seasons with the Marauders. He has led Millersville to four NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, three PSAC Eastern Divison titles and he has helped the Marauders capture two PSAC Championship Tournament crowns. In addition, Thompson has guided Millersville to three NCAA Division II East Regional title games. He led Millersville to a 13-14 overall finish last season, including an 8-8 mark in PSAC East play.
