ERIE, Pa. (February 21, 2014) – The Fighting Scot women's tennis team fell to Walsh 8-1 in the first match of the spring portion of the schedule on Friday night at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA. Edinboro moves to 4-4 in dual competition this season, while the Cavaliers improve to 16-6 on the season.

Julia Hellstern captured a victory in her first match, defeating Alisha Angle at no. 4 singles (3-6, 6-2, 11-9). Hellstern earned the lone win for Edinboro on the night.
Walsh, ranked ninth in the ITA Midwest Regional Rankings, swept doubles competition and won five of six singles matches.
The Fighting Scots return to action next Friday, February 28, hosting LeMoyne at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
