Box Score (New/Sortable Format) 2 EDINBORO, Pa. (April 13, 2014) - The Edinboro softball team fell twice to visiting Indiana (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon by scores of 9-0 and 7-2 in a PSAC West doubleheader in Edinboro. The Fighting Scots move to 10-14 overall on the season and 5-7 in PSAC West play, while the Crimson Hawks improve to 16-10 and 9-5 in the conference.

After three scoreless innings to start the second game of the doubleheader, IUP's Jasa Mitchell belted a solo homerun down the left field line to give the Crimson Hawks a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning.
The Fighting Scots answered in the bottom of the frame when
Brooke Callaghan cracked a two-run homerun to left field, scoring
Heather Tighe and giving Edinboro a 2-1 advantage. The four-bagger marked Callaghan's fourth homerun of the season.
IUP responded with four runs in the sixth inning to take a 5-2 lead. Tighe led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a double to right-center field, before the next two Fighting Scot batters grounded out.
Shelby Proctor followed with a walk, but the Crimson Hawks were able to strand both runners.
IUP added two runs in the top of the seventh to seal a 7-2 victory.
Callaghan went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run to lead Edinboro. Tighe went 1-for-1 at the plate with a walk and a run.
Kalet Lenart (6-5) suffered the loss for the Fighting Scots, working all seven innings and allowing seven runs (five earned) on six hits. Lenart struck out six batters and walked four. The loss marks the first losing decision in Lenart's last four starts.
Amanda Spindler (7-2) earned the win for the Crimson Hawks, tossing six innings and allowing two runs on five hits. She fanned four and walked three batters.
In the first game of the twinbill, IUP jumped out to an early 4-0 lead with four runs in the top of the first inning. The Crimson Hawks added a run in the third inning, before tacking on two runs in both the fourth and sixth innings to take a 9-0 lead.
Jessica Hyland singled up the middle in the bottom of the sixth, before
Katie Holmes delivered a pinch-hit, two-out double down the left field line. However, IUP closed the door with a strikeout to hold on for the 9-0 shutout.
Brenna Cosgrove (1-for-2) and
Mary Louise Lindner (1-for-2) also added base hits for the Fighting Scots.
Claire Johnston (2-4) was saddled with the loss for Edinboro, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits in .2 innings of work.
Alexa Campbell (7-2) picked up the complete-game win for IUP, allowing no runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.
The Fighting Scots return to action tomorrow, traveling to Clarion for a PSAC doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m.
