EDINBORO, Pa. (September 11, 2014) - The Edinboro women's soccer team heads on the road for two difficult games at No. 23 West Chester on Saturday, September 13 and then Millersville on Monday, September 15. The match against the Golden Rams begins at 1:00 p.m. and with the Marauders match getting underway at 3:00 p.m. The Fighting Scots are off to a 0-2-1 start overall and in the PSAC. West Chester has begun the season 3-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the PSAC and Millersville is 1-2-0 overall and in conference play.
Edinboro lost to East Stroudsburg 2-0 on Wednesday. The Fighting Scots 0-2-1 start is their second worst start in school history. The 1996 season, the Scots inaugural campaign, started off with four straight losses.
The Fighting Scots are led by
Alex Brown. The sophomore forward tallied two goals in a 2-2 tie against Mercyhurst for a total of four points on the season. Brown is now tied for 20
th in school history in goals scored following her seven-goal campaign as a freshman to total nine career goals.

Liz Debo has gone the first three games without registering a point. The senior has led Edinboro in scoring each of the past two seasons and is only five goals away from tying the school record of 37 goals.

her first goal this season.Meghan Kelly is expected to be in the net for the Fighting Scots. The senior goalkeeper has made 12 saves through the first three matches. Kelly is one shutout away from taking sole possession of first place in school history.
West Chester is undefeated through its first three matches, including PSAC wins over Kutztown (2-0) and Mansfield (4-0). The Golden Rams have outscored opposing teams 9-1 including 6-0 in PSAC play. Their nine goals are tied for the conference lead with Indiana (Pa.).
Cara Deola leads the conference with three assists. The senior forward has registered one assist in each game along with a goal in the season-opener against Wilmington (Delaware).
Carly Yost is the only Golden Ram with multiple goals, with two in the first three matches. The senior forward led West Chester in goals (9) and points (23) last season. She earned second team NSCAA All-Atlantic Region honors for her performance last year.
Edinboro has lost three straight in the series against West Chester. Last year the Fighting Scots suffered a close 1-0 loss in the regular season finale. Yost scored in the 81
st minute to give the Golden Rams the victory. West Chester leads the series 9-3-2.
Millersville opened the season with a 2-0 victory against PSAC preseason favorites Slippery Rock. The Rock was ranked seventh in the nation going into the game. The Marauders followed that with back-to-back losses to California (Pa.) by a score of 3-1 and then lost 4-1 to Kutztown.
The Marauders have given up the second-most goals in conference play. Four different players have scored for Millersville this year. Halie Parker is the only one to score a game-winner. The sophomore forward was fourth in scoring as a freshman for the Marauders with two goals and one assist for five points.
Last year Edinboro and Millersville met in the season-opener in Millersville and the Marauders won 2-1. Each team scored once in the first six minutes of the game. Millersville's game-winner came within the first two minutes of the second half when Kristin Lepley scored from 18 yards out. The Fighting Scots lead the series 11-6-0. Edinboro had won six in a row in the series before last year's contest.
Edinboro will return home following this road trip. The Fighting Scots will host Shippensburg on Saturday, September 20. That game will be at 5 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
