The game also marked the final contest of the 2014 portion of the Fighting Scots' schedule. • Heading into the games at Kutztown and Mansfield, Edinboro has posted a 1-3 record on the road, while owning a 5-2 ledger at home this season. The Fighting Scots are 2-1 against PSAC Eastern Division opponents this season, with wins over Cheyney and Millersville, as well as a loss to Shippensburg.
• Edinboro ranks third in the PSAC in scoring at 80.1 points per game while ranking fifth in the conference in scoring defense, allowing 66.1 points per game. The Fighting Scots sit second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.395), third in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.292), The Fighting Scots also rank fourth in the PSAC with a +2.36 turnover margin and pace the conference with a +1.16 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• Jaymon Mason was named the PSAC West Freshman of the Week for the second time this season for the week ending December 7. He averaged 16.5 points in two games during the week, including a 21-point performance to go along with a career-high seven rebounds in Edinboro's narrow 69-67 loss to visiting Mercyhurst. The 6'2'' guard added 12 markers against Slippery Rock. Mason has now scored in double-figures in six consecutive games. He was a perfect 9 of 9 from the free throw line against Mercyhurst and made 2 of 2 shots from the charity stripe at Slippery Rock. The Edinboro native ranks second in the PSAC in free throw shooting percentage at 87.0 percent (47 of 54). Mason sits second on the team and 13th in the conference in scoring at 14.1 points per game, while averaging a 2.2 assists per game to go along with 3.5 rebounds per contest.
• Henri Wade-Chatman currently ranks second the conference in scoring at 18.5 points per game. He recorded a career-high 30-points in the Fighting Scots' 89-64 win over Seton Hill. The 6'2'' junior also tallied 25 points against Slippery Rock Wade-Chatman sits third conference with 3.0 three-point field goals per game, ranks sixth in the PSAC with a .458 three-point shooting percentage and is 11th in the conference with a .461 field goal percentage. Jaymon Mason sits second in the PSAC with an .870 free throw percentage. Tommy Scales is 14th in the PSAC in rebouding at 6.7 boards per contest, followed by Casey Baker at 20th in the conference at 6.3 rebounds per game. Sam Sealy-James ranks third in the PSAC at 2.0 blocks per game.
• The Fighting Scots will play the role of underdog this season, as Edinboro was picked to once again finish eighth in the PSAC West according to the 2014-15 PSAC Preseason Coaches' Poll released on October 30. Kutztown was picked to finish fifth in the PSAC Eastern Division, while Mansfield was selected seventh.
The Edinboro-Kutztown Series - Edinboro leads 14-4: Edinboro holds a 14-4 advantage in the teams' all-time series dating back to th 1930-31 campaign. The Golden Bears won three consecutive meetings before the Fighting Scots captured a victory in the teams' last meeting.

12/30/14 - Edinboro 60, Thiel 56: Jaymon Trailing by three points at 51-48 with just over five minutes to play in the contest, Edinboro men's closed the game on a 12-5 run to earn a 60-56 victory over visiting Thiel in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night at McComb Fieldhouse. A Khari Bess layup gave Thiel a 51-48 lead with 5:10 remaining in the game, before the Fighting Scots constructed a 6-0 run capped by a Jaymon Mason 3-pointer to give Edinboro its first lead in nearly 10 minutes at 54-51 with 2:03 to play. Josh Johnson hit one of two free throws on the next Tomcat possession to shrink the Fighting Scots' advantage to 54-52 with 1:41 remaining. Sam Sealy-James answered with a jumper to put on top by four points at 56-52 at the 1:18 mark in the second half. The two teams traded baskets on each of their next possessions, as the Fighting Scots held a 58-54 advantage with 25 seconds to play after a Henri Wade-Chatman jumper. Bess would miss a layup on the next Thiel possession, before retrieving his own miss and knocking down a jumper to cut the Edinboro lead to two at 58-56 with just 13 seconds remaining. After Thiel fouled Mason immediately on the inbound pass, the redshirt freshman connected on a pair of free throws to seal the 60-56 victory for Edinboro. Wade-Chatman led all scorers with 18 points for the Fighting Scots on 6 of 14 shooting, including 3 of 7 shots from behind the arc. Casey Baker added 11 points, connecting on 4 of 5 field goals, followed by Mason with 10 markers. Baker also tallied a team-high seven rebounds in the win.
12/31/14 - Univ. of the Sciences 73, Kutztown 60: Kutztown ran into one of the top teams in the region on Wednesday afternoon as it dropped a 73-60 decision at the University of the Sciences at Morgan Arena on New Year's Eve. Tynell Fortune led the Golden Bears with 12 points, while Tyler Brooks scored 11 to extend his double-digit scoring streak to five games, and six of his last seven. Brooks also added a team-high eight rebounds and two blocks. Led by Garrett Kerr's 20 points and seven rebounds at the break, the Devils (10-3) got out to a healthy halftime lead at 44-28. Both teams shot higher than 50 percent from the field, but the Sciences built their lead off of +6 advantages in offensive rebounds and turnovers in the first half. The Golden Bears outscored the Devils 32-29 in the second half.
12/21/14 - Lincoln (Pa.) 88, Mansfield 76: Da`Quan Jones scored a team-high 19 points and teammate Charles Pemberton added 16 points but it was not enough as Mansfield closed out 2014 with a 88-76 setback to Lincoln in a non-conference contest. Mansfield held an eight point lead at 55-47 with 14:48 to play in the second half, when Lincoln went on 20-2 run over a seven minute span to take a 67-57 advantage on a pair of free throws by Kyle Aiken at the 8:19 mark of the second half. The Mounties could not come within closer than nine points for the remainder of the contest, dropping their fourth straight game.
The Last Meetings
1/11/13- Edinboro 78, Kutztown 77 (2OT): Edinboro scored the first five points in the second overtime then held on to hand visiting Kutztown a 78-77 defeat in a PSAC crossover contest at McComb Fieldhouse. Isaiah Prince paced the Fighting Scots with 23 points, making 5 of 11 three-pointers. He added three steals while playing all 50 minutes. Bryan Theriot finished with his seventh double-double of the season, making 7 of 10 field goals and 7 of 8 free throws to end the night with 21 points, while adding 13 rebounds. He also had five blocked shots. Johnathan Logan was also in double digits with 14 points, all in the first 17 minutes of the game. The junior forward made 4 of 11 three-pointers. Fraction led all scorers with 26 points, including a perfect 10-for-10 effort at the line, and had six rebounds and five assists. Ryan Connolly added 16 points, with Tyler brooks contributing 15 points and nine rebounds. Adbul King was a fourth golden Bear in double figures with 12 points.
12/1/12 - Edinboro 66, Mansfield 65: After Chuck Harper gave the Mountaineers a 65-64 lead with 31 seconds remaining on a three-pointer, the game looked over when Isaiah Prince turned the ball over with just 12 seconds remaining. A Mansfield turnover gave the ball back to the Fighting Scots, and Bryan Theriot hit a jumper with four seconds left for the 66-65 lead. Following a Mansfield timeout, Theriot came up with a steal to clinch the win. Theriot led Edinboro with 22 points and 16 rebounds. It marked the third double-double of the season for the 6'9" junior. Jay Fletcher had 12 points, six assists, and three steals. Prince tallied 11 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Harper and Charles Becoats led Mansfield with 17 points apiece. Joe Bell poured in 16 points and added 10 rebounds. Onyema Utti was the fourth Mansfield player to record double figures as he finished with 11 points.
The Coaches
Edinboro - Pat Cleary (Edinboro '99): Cleary is in his second year as head coach of the Fighting Scots, leading Edinboro to an 13-20 record in that time. Cleary took over for his predecessor Greg Walcavich, who spent 24 years at the helm of the Edinboro program. Cleary previously worked as an assistant under Walcavich for 16 years, first as a student aide before becoming a full-time assistant coach. Cleary is credited for recruiting many of Edinboro's top contributors in recent years.
Kutztown- Bernie Driscoll (Dickinson '77): is in his 15th year as head coach of the Golden Bears and owns a 226-179 career record. Driscoll guided Kutztown to its fourth PSAC Eastern Division regular season championship in 2012. It was the program's third title in a span of five years. KU finished 18-9 overall and 15-7 in conference play. The 15 PSAC victories were the most in school history. In the 2009-10 season, Driscoll guided the Golden Bears to a 23-8 record, marking the first time in school history the team had back-to-back 20 win seasons. The team was ranked in every single poll and reached a school-best No. 2 on January 19th. The Golden Bears finished runner-up in the PSAC Championship and earned a trip to the NCAA Regionals. The year before Driscoll was named the PSAC East Coach of the Year for the second time in his career and led the Golden Bears to the PSAC final and the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region final. With 28 wins, the Golden Bears won more games than any other team in school history.
Mansfield - Rich Miller (Bucknell '96): is in his 10th year in charge of the Mountaineers. He has guided Mansfield to a 123-131 record during that period, with five PSAC playoffs berths. His 200910 squad won the PSAC East regular season championship, and the Mountaineers repeated the next year. In fact, the 2010-11 squad went 18-9 and earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Playoffs. Miller was recognized as the PSAC East Coach of the Year that season.
