Final ResultsSHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (January 9, 2015) –The Edinboro Men's Swimming team lost in its first action back in the water in over a month at Shippensburg 109-90 on Friday night. The Fighting Scots fall to 2-2 in dual meets this season while the Raiders improve to 2-3.
The Fighting Scots opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.
Tony Romanini,
Luke Frederick,
Justin Ransel, and
Micah Cattell combined to finish in 1:38.43.
Joshua Beabout and
Ryne Fromholzer finished first and second in the next event. The former dominated the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in 10:11.51. Fromholzer followed Beabout with a 10:47.22 final time.
Romanini won the 100-yard backstroke (53.10) and Beabout added another victory in the 500-yard freestyle (4:53.52).
Cattell secured a second place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.64 and 100-yard freestyle in 49.18. Frederick also tacked on another second place finish for the Fighting Scots in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.86, losing by just a second to Shippensburg's Jake Dunnigan and beating the Raiders Tyler Clisham by only .02 seconds.
Edinboro concluded the day with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of
Dylan Cerroni, Beabout, Ransel, and Romanini finished in a time of 1:29.24.
The Fighting Scots will next swim against Clarion at home on Saturday, January 24. It is the last home meet of the 2014-15 season for Edinboro
