Liverpool, N.Y. (February 28, 2015) – The Edinboro women's tennis team swept doubles competition en route to a 6-3 victory over host Le Moyne on Saturday night at Gold's Gym in Liverpool, N.Y. The Fighting Scots won their second straight match and improved to 3-1 on the season, while the Dolphins dropped to 7-9.
The tandem of
Oranza Carrillo and
Katie Allan picked up an 8-3 win at No. 1 singles, while
Marija Tmusic and
RyAnne' Baldwin collected a 9-7 victory at the No. 2 doubles position. The duo of
Julia Hellstern and
Lydia Browne rounded out doubles play with an 8-2 triumph at No. 3 doubles.
Hellstern boosted her record to 5-2 in singles play with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the No. 2 slot. Tmusic earned her first singles victory as a Fighting Scot at No. 3 singles, and Allan picked up a win at the No. 6 singles position.
Edinboro is back in action against Newberry on March 9 at Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
