MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 28, 2015) – The Edinboro women's tennis team dropped its Saturday match against Charleston on Saturday 6-3. The match took place in Morgantown, W.Va. as the Fighting Scots record fell to 4-6 overall and the Golden Eagles improved to 13-5 on the season.
The Fighting Scots picked up two wins in the top two single spots.
Julia Hellstern defeated Toni Katipa (6-5, 6-2) and
Oranza Carrillo beat Kelsey Hensley (6-4, 6-4). The Fighting Scots, however, dropped the other four singles matches.
In doubles competition,
Julia Hellstern and
Lydia Browne were the only Edinboro pair to win. The two had to play into a tiebreaker to eventually win 9-8.
The Fighting Scots next match is tomorrow at West Virginia Wesleyan. It is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. in Buckhannon, W.Va.
