GREENSBURG, Pa. (April 10, 2015) – The Edinboro women's tennis team competed at Seton Hill on Friday afternoon and lost a close affair 5-4. The Fighting Scots record drops to 5-10 this season and 0-4 in the PSAC. The Griffins move to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in conference.
Edinboro's first win came from the team of
Julia Hellstern and
Lydia Browne in the doubles competition. The two posted a clean sweep of Chelsea Pence and Alisha Torretti winning 8-0. Edinboro lost the other two doubles matches.
The Fighting Scots split the singles matches. Oranza Carrilo defeated Sara Ruiz in the number two singles slot 6-4, 6-2.
RyAnne' Baldwin battled Paula Carvajalino for the only three set victory in the match, winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Katie Allan was the Scots final winner as she defeated Pence 6-0, 6-3.
Edinboro's next scheduled meet is on Monday, April 13. The Fighting Scots will be hosting Roberts Wesleyan College stating at 3:00 p.m.
