EDINBORO, Pa. (September 14, 2015) – After a win against Shippensburg Friday and a loss to Millersville Saturday, the Edinboro University women's soccer team will travel Tuesday to take on the Griffins of Seton Hill in a PSAC match at 4:00 p.m.
Edinboro heads to Greensburg, PA with a 3-1-0 overall record and a 2-1-0 PSAC record. In last week's poll from the NSCAA, 'Boro is ranked 16
th in NCAA Division II and second in the Atlantic Region.
The Fighting Scots opened the season with three wins before losing to the Marauders Saturday, 1-0. Despite the outcome, Edinboro dominated in shots against Millersville, 18-5. In total, 'Boro has out-shot their opponents this year, 69-20.
Ashley Mutkus leads the team in scoring with six points and three goals;
Jansen Hartmann is second on the team with three points and one goal.
Edinboro has shown so far that they are a strong defensive team, with goalies
Sarah Baskey and
Sierra Davis allowing just two goals all season. Each of them has registered a shutout win.
Seton Hill enters Tuesday with a 2-2-0 overall and PSAC record. On Saturday they defeated Kutztown, 2-1. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Griffins rallied with two second-half goals by Emily LoPresti and Emma Bearinger for the comeback win. LoPresti and Bearinger are the top two scorers for Seton Hill. Bearinger leads with five points and three assists, and LoPresti is right behind her with four points and two goals.
In goal for Seton Hill has been Carolin Edenhofner and Jessica Neill. They have allowed seven goals and totaled 20 saves between themselves.
When the Fighting Scots and Griffins met last year at Sox Harrison Stadium, Edinboro came out on top, 2-1.

Katie O'Donnell provided the scoring for the Fighting Scots.
After Tuesday's match, Edinboro will remain on the road when they face the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m.
