(September 29, 2015) – Freshman midfielder Chloe Work's two goals and one assist helped the Edinboro University women's soccer team defeat Pitt-Johnstown, 5-0, in a home PSAC match on Tuesday at Sox Harrison Stadium. The Fighting Scots improve to 6-3-0 overall and 5-2-0 in the PSAC, while the Mountain Cats fell to 0-9-0 overall and in the PSAC.

Edinboro is ranked sixth in the Atlantic Region in the NSCAA's newest poll. Pitt-Johnstown suffered its 35th consecutive loss.

Edinboro began the scoring with a header by Alex Brown for her second goal for the season off a cross from Jansen Hartmann in the 27th minute. Work followed that up with her first goal in the 37th to put the Fighting Scots up, 2-0, at halftime.

Jansen Hartmann scored a penalty-kick in the 52nd minute for her team-leading eighth goal of the season to put Edinboro up by three goals. Alex Root added to Edinboro's lead in the 69th minute with her first goal of the year off a feed from Work. Work closed out the scoring with her second goal of the game in the 73rd minute off a pass by Root.

Edinboro outshot the Mountain Cats, 21-2, with 14 shots on goal. Hartmann's one goal and one assist gives her 19 points on eight goals and three assists for the season. Her 61 career points ranks ninth all-time in Edinboro scoring, while her 22 career goals are eighth and her 17 career assists are now fourth.

Goalkeeper Sarah Baskey recorded two saves and improved her record to 4-1-0, while collecting her third shutout.

The Fighting Scots return to PSAC action on Saturday, October, 3 at West Chester at 12:00 p.m.
