TIFFIN, Ohio (January 16, 2016) – The Edinboro University women's swimming team captured seven victories enroute to a 70-61 team victory over Tiffin on Saturday afternoon. Freshman
Anastasiia Semkiv took home three victories, while
Mary Rosati posted two.
Rosati took first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:01.17.
Semkiv,
Casey Tokarski, and
Natalie Gilley placed first, second, and third respectively in the 50-yard freestyle. Semkiv clocked in at 25.40, while Tokarski finished at 26.03 and Gilley followed behind with a 27.63 finish.
Semkiv followed her first victory up with her second, a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.57.
Rosati posted her second victory of the day in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 2:16.72.
Junior
Holly Stein collected a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke as she finished with a time of 2:24.14. Senior
Charlotte Drozda followed with a victory of her own in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:38.02.
The quartet of Semkiv,
Morgan Joseph, Stein and
Breanna Purnell took the top spot in the 200-yard free style relay with a time of 1:41.92.
The Edinboro women hit the water again on Saturday, January 23, as they take on Clarion.
