The Game Story
The Edinboro University men's basketball team hits the road for the first time this season for a three-game road trip, starting with a non-conference game at Lake Erie on Wednesday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. The Fighting Scots opened the year on Saturday with a 90-74 win over Thiel to stand at 1-0. The Storm, who are members of the GLIAC South, dropped a pair of contests this past weekend to start at 0-2.
Wednesday's game marks the second straight year Edinboro and Lake Erie will meet, with the Fighting Scots seeking to end a two-game losing streak to the Storm. Edinboro looks to avenge an 80-67 home defeat to the Storm last year on November 24. They are 1-2 against Lake Erie since the Storm moved to Division II from Division III in 2009.
Four Fighting Scots scored in double figures in Saturday's win over the Tomcats. Redshirt junior guard
Jaymon Mason dropped in a game-high 24 points, scoring 15 in the first half and drilling 3-of-4 3-point attempts in the second half. He was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Senior guard
Malachy Onwudiegwu, a transfer from Division I Alcorn State, finished with 17 points off the bench in his Edinboro debut. Fellow transfer and junior forward
Maceo Baston (Southwestern C.C.) had 12 points with five rebounds, while senior forward
Mikael Anderson scored 11 points with four boards.
Sophomore center
Jack Frank, a transfer from Lees-McRae, and junior center
Andre Frederick, a transfer from Division I Robert Morris, each grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in their Fighting Scots debuts.
Jaymon Mason boosted his career total to 958 career points, putting him 42 points away from the 1,000 career-point milestone. He is six points away from reaching Cory Somerville for 29th place all-time. Mason's six free throws Saturday moved him into 11th all-time with 277 made free throws. He set the school season free throws record with 153 last season.

On March 26, 2013, Cleary was officially introduced as Edinboro's tenth head coach after Walcavich announced his retirement. Cleary's teams have improved each year since his appointment, with his 2015-16 team earning the third seed in the PSAC West Tournament with a 15-11 overall record and 14-8 league mark.
