The Game Story
- · Edinboro returns to PSAC action and looks to put a three-game losing streak behind them when they welcome eastern opponents East Stroudsburg and West Chester this weekend to McComb Fieldhouse. They tip-off against the Warriors on Saturday, December 3 at 3:00 p.m. and against the Golden Rams on Sunday, December 4 at 3:00 p.m.
· The Fighting Scots are 2-3 overall with a 0-2 PSAC record. They were ranked fifth in the PSAC West preseason poll. The Warriors are 4-3 and 2-0, respectively, while the Golden Rams are 3-2 and 2-0, respectively. East Stroudsburg was picked to finish third in the PSAC East preseason poll, while West Chester was ranked second, receiving two first-place votes. The Golden Rams play Slippery Rock on Saturday prior to Sunday's game.
· The Fighting Scots defeated both East Stroudsburg and West Chester on the road in last year's PSAC weekend crossover. Guard Jaymon Mason, then a redshirt-sophomore, had 27 points against the Warriors on December 4, 2015 and buried the game-winning jumper with 2.9 seconds to play for a 68-66 win. He then scored 23 points to help defeat the Golden Rams, 69-66 on December 5, 2015.
· Head coach Pat Cleary's team hopes a repeat of last year's weekend sweep of ESU and WCU is the kind of catalyst they need to snap a three-game losing streak. After a 2-0 start, the Fighting Scots dropped their opening PSAC games at Millersville and Shippensburg, and fell to Daemen, 90-79, on November 23.
· East Stroudsburg and West Chester both posted 20-win seasons in 2015-16. The Golden Rams defeated the Warriors in the PSAC Quarterfinals, 81-73, and reached the PSAC Finals, where they fell to Mercyhurst by a 70-67 score.
· Redshirt junior guard Jaymon Mason is tenth in the PSAC with 17.8 ppg. The 2016 Division II Bulletin All-American preseason selection has registered one 30-point game and two double-doubles this season. He is 28th all-time in career points (1,022), eighth in career scoring average (17.6 ppg.) and fifth and ninth, respectively, in career free throw percentage (.843) and free throws made, connecting on 291-of-345 shots from the charity stripe.
· Senior guard Sheldon Brogdon scored a career-high 31 points against Daemen, shooting 12-for-15 from the field and 7-for-9 from 3-point range. He had scored seven total points in the three previous games he played in this season. The 6'0" guard is second in the PSAC in 3-point field goal percentage with .571 (8-for-14) and third on the team averaging 9.5 ppg.
· Junior center Andre Frederick, a transfer from Division I Robert Morris, is tied for ninth in the PSAC averaging 7.4 rpg. He is tied for third in the league with 1.8 blocks per game. Sophomore center Jack Frank, a transfer from Lees-McRae, had a career-high 14 boards against Daemen. He is second on the team and 12th in the conference with 7.2 rpg.

12/4/15 – Edinboro 68, East Stroudsburg 66 at East Stroudsburg University
· Edinboro held a 66-63 lead when Jamal Nwaniemeka nailed a 3-pointer out of a timeout to knot the score at 66 with 30 seconds to play. Jaymon Mason hit a jumper with 2.9 seconds to play to give Edinboro a 68-66 lead. Najee Walls' 3-pointer just before the buzzer was no good.
· Jaymon Mason finished with a game-high 27 points, including 19 in the first half, and grabbed a then career-high 11 rebounds. He was 6-for-12 from beyond the 3-point arc. Tommy Scales also had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Henri Wade-Chatman netted 14 points. The three combined for 57 of Edinboro's 68 points.
· The Fighting Scots shot 34.3 percent for the game (24-of-70). They would make 9-of-25 3-pointers and were a perfect 11-for-11 at the line. The Warriors shot 41.9 percent from the floor (26-of-62), but were just 3-for-23 on 3-pointers and 11-for-19 on free throws. ESU held a 45-41 advantage in rebounds.
· Steve Harris led four Warriors in double figures with 13 points, adding a game-high 14 rebounds. Rasheed Moore also had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Nwaniemeka and Quindell Brice had 12 points apiece.
12/5/15 – Edinboro 69, West Chester 66 at West Chester University
· After trailing at halftime, 33-27, Edinboro scored 42 second-half points, using a 14-2 run to take their largest lead of the game at 58-50 with 3:53 to play. West Chester pulled to within two points twice in the last 11 seconds, but free throws by Sheldon Brogdon and Tommy Scales helped secure the Edinboro victory.
· Jaymon Mason had a game-high 23 points, going 8-for-15 from the field and 4-for-7 from 3-point range. Henri Wade-Chatman finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Sheldon Brogdon had 14 points off the bench.
· Edinboro shot 37.3 percent from the field (22-for-59), connecting on 10-of-25 3-pointers and 15-of-22 free throws. West Chester shot 43.1 percent (25-for-58), while shooting 5-for-16 from behind the arc and 11-for-18 from the charity stripe. The Golden Rams held a 38-16 lead in points in the paint and a 14-6 advantage in second-chance points.
· Matt Wiseley led the Golden Rams with 17 points with seven rebounds. Matt Penecale was second with 13 markers.

· Sheldon Brogdon scored a career-high 31 points, going 12-for-15 from the field and 7-for-9 from 3-point range. Chibbuna Ukandu also had a career high with 19 points and shot 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
· Daemen shot 51.5 percent from the field (34-for-66), including 15-for-29 from behind the arc. Edinboro shot 44.4 percent (28-for-63) and 10-for-31, respectively. The Fighting Scots led, 41-30, in the rebounding battle.
· The Wildcats led the entire first half and took a 44-34 lead at halftime. Edinboro used a 9-0 run in the second half to lead, 56-55, with 10:47 to play. Daemen responded with a 17-6 run to take the lead for good.
· Jack Frank posted a career-high 14 rebounds, while adding eight points. Jaymon Mason finished with 11 points and nine boards, nearly posting his third double-double of the year.
11/28/16 – East Stroudsburg 99, Penn State-Wilkes Barre 66 at East Stroudsburg
· Steve Harris posted a double-double with 18 points, going 7-for-9 from the field, and tied his career high with 17 rebounds. He reached the double-double in the first half with 10 points and 14 boards. He finished shooting 7-for-9 from the field.
· Kitt Najee-Wells had a career-high 18 points with nine boards. Steven Stoney had 10 points with eight rebounds, while Ryan Krawczeniuk and Chris Bing also scored in double digits with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
· East Stroudsburg shot 46.6 percent from the field (34-for-73) and 11-for-23 from behind the arc. PSU-Wilkes Barre shot 35.6 percent (26-for-73) and 4-for-20, respectively. The Warriors outrebounded the Lions, 55-38, and held a 41-14 lead in bench points.
11/29/16 – Bloomfield 97, West Chester 86 at Bloomfield College
· Malik Jackson was West Chester's lone double-digit scorer with a game-high 24 points.
· Bloomfield shot 49.2 percent from the floor (30-for-61) and 6-for-11 from 3-point range. West Chester shot 38.0 percent from the field (27-for-71) and connected on 8-of-26 3-pointers. The Golden Rams went 36.6 percent (15-for-41) and 2-for-11, respectively, in the second half, while the Bears were 54.2 percent (13-for-24) and 3-for-6, respectively.
· The Golden Rams led just once in the contest, holding as much as a seven-point lead at 24-17 with 9:51 left in the first half. The game was tied at 32 before a Nick Davidson layup gave the Bears the lead for good with six minutes left in the opening session.
The Head Coaches
Edinboro: Pat Cleary, Edinboro '99 (41-44, 4th Year)
· Pat Cleary was officially introduced as Edinboro's tenth head coach on March 26, 2013 after head coach Greg Walcavich announced his retirement. Cleary served as Walcavich's assistant coach for 14 years.
· Cleary's teams have improved each year since his appointment, with his 2015-16 team earning the third seed in the PSAC West Tournament with a 15-11 overall record and 14-8 league mark.
· He made the playoffs for the first time in 2014-15 with a 14-13 record, a four-game improvement over his first year, after being chosen to finish eighth in the PSAC West preseason poll. His first Boro squad finished 10-16 in 2013-14.
East Stroudsburg: Jeff Wilson, East Stroudsburg '86 (257-149, 15th year)
· Jeff Wilson, an ESU alum and assistant coach on the Warriors' 1990 PSAC championship team, is the Warriors' all-time career wins leader with 257 since being named head coach 2002.
· Wilson has led ESU to four PSAC East titles and seven straight PSAC Tournament appearances since the 2009-10 season. They also made four NCAA Tournament appearances during that time.
· He was named the NCAA Division II Coach of the Year by the Basketball Times and CollegeInsider.com and the NABC DII Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2014. He was also named the region's top coach in 2010, and was PSAC East Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2013.
· Wilson served as assistant coach for East Stroudsburg from 1986-1995 under head coach Sal Mentesana. He followed Mentesana to Division I Lehigh, where he served as the associate head coach until his hiring at ESU.
West Chester: Damien Blair, West Chester '06 (151-82, 9th year)
· Former West Chester basketball standout Damien Blair enters his ninth season in charge of the Golden Rams. Blair has guided West Chester to six postseason appearances and PSAC Finals appearances since taking over in 2008. They have posted three 20-win seasons in the last four years.
· Blair, a former guard for the Golden Rams, was a two-time PSAC East Player of the Year in 1994 and 1995. He was a four-time all-league selection, receiving three first-team nods. His 2,025 career points stand second all-time at West Chester and ninth all-time in PSAC history.

· Jaymon Mason became the 28th Fighting Scot to reach the 1,000 career-point milestone at Millersville on November 19.
· He was the third-fastest to reach 1,000 career points, with only Tyrone Mason, his father, and Kenny Tate both reaching the mark in 51 games. The 6'3" guard is 28th all-time with 1,022 career points.
· Mason ranks tenth in the PSAC with 17.8 ppg., while ranking fourth on the team with 6.4 rpg. He has posted two double-doubles this season, the first at Lake Erie with 31 points and ten rebounds and the second at Millersville with 16 points and ten boards.
· The Edinboro, Pa. native was named to the Division II Bulletin All-American preseason team after earning All-American honorable mention accolades last season. The 2015 PSAC West Freshman of the Year was selected to the PSAC West preseason team after being named to the NABC first team and All-PSAC West first team in 2015-16.
Mikael Anderson (F, Sr.)
· Mikael Anderson, in his first year as a full-time starter, is fourth on the team in both scoring (8.8 ppg.) and rebounding (4.4 rpg.).
· He scored a career-high 19 points at Lake Erie on November 16.
· Anderson has started the first five games at forward after playing in 23 games with two starts in 2015-16 as a guard/forward.
