The Game StoryThe Edinboro University men's basketball team looks to snap a two-game losing streak Saturday at PSAC West-leading Indiana (Pa.). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. as the Fighting Scots look to snap the Crimson Hawks' 11-game winning streak and split the season series. Edinboro has lost eight straight games to IUP at Kovalchick Complex and have won just once in their last 15 meetings against last year's NCAA Division II runners up. That lone win came last season, a 79-77 overtime victory at McComb Fieldhouse on February 14, 2015. IUP won this year's first meeting by an 82-74 score at McComb.
The Fighting Scots stand third in the PSAC West with a 12-8 overall record and an 11-6 PSAC record. After defeating Gannon on January 27, Edinboro has lost two straight games. They fell to Mercyhurst on January 30, 72-47, in a battle for second place, and at Slippery Rock on Wednesday, 79-74. The Fighting Scots own a three-game lead over fifth-place Clarion. The top two teams in each division receive a bye, with the third and fourth-place finishers hosting first-round playoff games. The Scots are 6-3 on the road this season while the Crimson Hawks are 11-2 on their home court, including an 8-1 mark against PSAC opponents.
Saturday's game features three of the PSAC's top four scorers. IUP senior guard Brandon Norfleet leads the conference and is 18

In their first meeting this season, Indiana (Pa.) pulled out an 82-74 victory over the Fighting Scots on December 19 at McComb Fieldhouse. Brandon Norfleet scored a career-high 31 points along with eight assists. Indiana (Pa.) forced Edinboro into 10 turnovers while they only turned the ball over four times, leading to an 18-4 advantage in points off turnovers. Senior center
Tommy Scales had a career-high 15 rebounds along with 10 points for his third double-double of the season.
Indiana (Pa.) has won 11 straight games, including a 68-66 victory over second-place Mercyhurst on Wednesday. The win gave the Crimson Hawks a two-game lead in the PSAC West at 17-5 overall and 14-3 in the PSAC. IUP ranks second in in the conference in scoring defense at 67.6 ppg., is third in field goal percentage at 48.3 percent (629-for-1303), and fourth in rebounding margin at plus 5.5.
Jaymon Mason scored a game-high 27 points at Slippery Rock on Wednesday, marking his tenth 20-point game of the season. Mason was named the Division II Bulletin Player of the Month for January on Monday. He is fourth in the PSAC in free throw percentage at 86.5 percent (122-for-145) while leading the conference and ranking 18
th in NCAA Division II in free throws made. He is eighth in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage at 40.0 percent (44-for-110) and 14
th in field goal percentage at 44.7 percent (132-for-295).
Henri Wade-Chatman registered 18 points at Slippery Rock and has scored in double digits in all 20 games this season. The 6'2" senior guard is 14
th on Edinboro's all-time career scoring list with 1,269 points and is seventh in career 3-pointers with 148. He is eighth in the PSAC in free throw percentage at 80.7 percent (96-for-119) and 13
th in 3-point field goal percentage at 36.1 percent (43-for-119).
Edinboro is fifth in the PSAC in scoring at 77.6 ppg. and 14
th in scoring defense at 77.3 ppg. They are second in the conference and 32

Henri Wade-Chatman paced Edinboro with 21 points, with 13 of those in the first half. He added four assists.
Tommy Scales turned in his third double-double of the season with 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, including six offensive boards. After missing his only two shots in the first half, Mason finished with 18 points, adding seven rebounds, while playing just 23 minutes. Tevin Hanner was the only other Crimson Hawk in double digits as he posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, adding four blocked shots.
Last Time Out2/3/16 – Slippery Rock 79, Edinboro 74 at Morrow Field HouseDown by 11 points at one point in the second half, Edinboro rallied to within a point at 71-70 with 1:41 remaining. However, The Rock came down and converted a classic 3-point play to spoil the Scots' comeback hopes. The Boro trailed SRU in rebounds, 42-26, including being outrebounded, 26-8, heading into halftime. In a foul-drenched game, the two combined for 76 free throw attempts. Edinboro, who were called on 31 personal fouls for the contest, shot 30-for-39 from the charity stripe while Slippery Rock shot 24-for-37. Edinboro shot 38.9 percent on the night (21-for-54) while Slippery Rock shot 50.9 percent (27-for-53). The Fighting Scots scored 14 points off of 15 SRY turnovers while The Rock cashed in on eight points off of eight Scots turnovers. The Fighting Scots were outscored in the paint, 50-36. Mason scored a game-high 27 points. Wade-Chatman finished with 18 points while
Tommy Scales, despite playing just 14 total minutes, added 10 points, all scored in the second half.

2/3/16 – Indiana (Pa) 68, Mercyhurst 66 at Kovalchick ComplexBrandon Spain's 18-footjumper with 1.3 seconds left gave IUP their 11
th straight win. The Crimson Hawks shot 46.6 percent on the best scoring defensive in NCAA Division II, with four players scoring in double-figures. Brandon Norfleet finished with a game-high 22 points, adding six assists and four rebounds. Spain ended his night with 12 points and six rebounds. Dante Lombardi had 13 points with a team-high seven boards while Daddy Ugbede added 11 markers. The Crimson Hawks forced Mercyhurst into 18 turnovers and owned a 17-2 advantage in points off turnovers.
The Head CoachesEdinboro: Pat Cleary (36-37, 3rd Year)Pat Cleary sat at the right side of Edinboro head men's basketball coach Greg Walcavich for 14 years. On March 26, 2013, Cleary was officially introduced as Edinboro's tenth head coach after Walcavich announced his retirement. Cleary's first season ended with a 10-16 record. Edinboro lost three games to nationally-ranked teams and suffered a number of close losses, including two overtime losses and two defeats at the buzzer. Season number two saw the Fighting Scots make the PSAC playoffs as the number five seed after being picked to finish eighth in the PSAC coaches' poll. Edinboro ended the year with a 14-13 record, falling at Slippery Rock, 64-60, in the first round of the PSAC Playoffs. Among the victories was a 79-77 overtime upset of 16th-ranked Indiana (Pa.). The Crimson Hawks would go on to reach the NCAA Division II national championship game.
Indiana (Pa.): Joe Lombardi (221-82, 10th year)In his 10
th season, Lombardi has a 221-82 overall record with seven straight NCAA tournament appearances, three PSAC tournament titles (2010, 2011, 2013), and two Division II National Championship Game appearances (2010, 2015). He became the winningest head coach in Indiana (Pa.) history on November 27, 2015 when the Crimson Hawks defeated The Sciences of Philadelphia, 72-64. Lombardi has twice been named the PSAC West Coach of the Year (2010, 2012), in addition to being named the Basketball Times Division II Coach of the Year after IUP's first national title appearance in 2010. Lombardi was an assistant coach at IUP from 1984-87 before taking similar roles at St. Francis, St. Bonaventure, La Salle, and Pittsburgh.

Jaymon Mason (G, 6'3", R-So.) was named the Division II Bulletin Player of the Month for the month of January on Monday. He is also a three-time PSAC Athlete of the Week honoree this season, most recently for the week of January 18. Mason is second in the PSAC and 32
nd in NCAA Division II in scoring at 21.5 ppg. and currently has 822 career points through 47 games. The 6'3" guard scored a team-high 27 points at Slippery Rock on Wednesday. He had a career-high 39 points against Kutztown, along with 36 points versus Seton Hill and 35 points in the first meeting with Gannon. Mason has scored in double digits in 18 of 20 games this season. The 6'3" guard leads the PSAC and is 18th in Division II with 122 free throws made, which puts him at 11
th in Edinboro's season record books. Mason ranks fourth in the PSAC in free throw percentage at 86.5 percent (122-for-141). He is ranked ninth in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage at 40.0 percent (44-for-110) and 14
th in field goal percentage at 44.7 percent (132-for-295). Mason has led the team in scoring nine times and has scored 20-or-more points on ten occasions. He was named the 2015 PSAC Freshman of the Year, the first Fighting Scot to receive this honor since Dan Grabill in 2002.
Tommy Scales (C, 6'8", Sr.) leads the Scots and is ninth in the PSAC in rebounds with 7.1 rpg. Scales is fifth in the conference in offensive boards at 2.9 rpg. He is third on the team in scoring at 12.0 ppg. and fourth in the PSAC in field goal percentage at 53.5 percent (100-for-187). Scales set a career high with 23 points at Seton Hill on January 24. But since then, he has totaled only 23 points in three games. Scales has posted four double-doubles, including consecutive double-doubles at Mercyhurst (15 points, 11 rebounds) and at East Stroudsburg (16 points, 11 boards). The former transfer from Fairmont State has led the team in rebounds in ten games.
Scouting Indiana (Pa.)The Crimson Hawks, last year's NCAA Division II runners up, have won 11 straight games to move into at first place in the PSAC West with a 17-5 overall record and a 14-3 PSAC record. Their last loss came at tenth-ranked Fairmont State on December 12, 85-72, while their last PSAC defeat came at Kutztown on December 5, 78-76. IUP is 11-2 at Kovalchick Complex. They have won 14 of their last 15 matchups against Edinboro and have won eight straight home game against the Fighting Scots.
The Crimson Hawks defeated second-place Mercyhurst on Wednesday night, 68-66, on a last-second jumper by junior guard Brandon Spain. The win gave IUP a two-game lead in the PSAC West as they avenged a loss earlier this season against the Hurst. Along with Kutztown, their only other PSAC loss came against West Chester, who leads the PSAC East.
Senior guard Brandon Norfleet is the PSAC's leading scorer and is 18
th in NCAA Division II at 22.6 ppg. The former transfer from Cheyney and the 2013 PSAC East Freshman of the Year is tenth in the conference in field goal percentage at 48.8 percent (185-for-379).The 6'5" guard is tenth in the PSAC in free throw percentage at 80.0 percent (88-for-110) and fifth in assists at 4.3 assists per game. Norfleet is one of three people to start all 22 games for the Crimson Hawks.
Anthony Glover is the PSAC's fourth-leading 3-point shooter at 41.7 percent (45-for-108) and the team's third-leading scorer at 10.3 ppg. Reserve freshman forward Jacobo Diaz, despite starting just one game this season, ranks 15
