CALIFORNIA, Pa. (March 29, 2016) – Edinboro women's tennis paid a PSAC visit to 18th-ranked California (Pa.) Tuesday afternoon, falling to the defending PSAC champions by a 9-0 decision. The Fighting Scots, who are ranked tenth in the Atlantic Region in the latest ITA poll, dropped to 10-5 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC West. The Vulcans, ranked 18th in the nation and first in the region, improved to 10-2 and 2-0 in the PSAC West.
 
Cal, the winner of the last nine PSAC championships, remain unbeaten against the Fighting Scots since the latter's program resurrection in 2010-11.
 
The Fighting Scots went up against two ranked opponents on the day, with Anastasiya Dasik falling to number-30 Lena Dimmer, 6-1 and 6-0. The tandem of Dasik and Marija Tmusic dropped their doubles match to 12th-ranked Dimmer and Kiefer Shaw, 8-0. The closest singles matches on the day came from Julia Hellstern's 6-4 and 6-1 defeat to Shaw and Tmusic's 6-1 and 6-4 defeat to Veronika Mikulis. The tandems of Lopez/Jelena Vucenovic and Hellstern/Lydia Browne fell, 8-1, in their respective double matches to Jasi Witherspoon/Holly Bennett and Mikulis/Alyssa Savill.
 
Edinboro returns home for the first of a three-match home stand on Friday, hosting Charleston at 5:00 p.m.
