HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (March 8, 2016) – Just hours after an afternoon match on Monday, the Edinboro University women's tennis team were up early Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. for a match against Belmont Abbey, defeating the Crusaders, 5-4. Edinboro improved to 8-2 on the year while the Crusaders dropped to 5-9. The match marked the Fighting Scots second of their four-match spring break trip, which took place at the Van Der Beer Tennis Academy.

The Scots used four singles victories and one doubles victory to edge Belmont Abbey, with Tatiana Batalla defeating Rachele Subik by matching 6-1 to move to 11-2 on the year. Roxana Yeh earned her tenth win of the season (10-2) by defeating Brylee Seitz, 6-1 and 6-2. Laura Lopez beat Alex Weber, 7-5 and 6-0, while Anastasiya Dasik downed Darian DeFrench with 6-1 and 6-3 scores. Yeh and Lopez secured the win for the Boro with an 8-2 doubles victory over Weber and Seitz. The tandem is now 3-1 this season.

Edinboro returns to the court on Thursday when they take on Ashland, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
