SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (April 14, 2016) - The Edinboro University women's tennis team dropped its final road game of the regular season on Thursday night, falling to Slippery Rock by a score of 6-3. With the loss, the Fighting Scots are now 11-7 on the season while The Rock improved to 12-8.
Edinboro's three victories came in singles competition as
Laura Lopez (14-6),
Roxana Yeh (15-4), and
Tatiana Batalla Trabal (13-5) all triumphed over their Slippery Rock counterparts. Lopez took down Slippery Rock's Tiffany Kollah by scores of 6-0, 6-2 followed by Yeh's 6-3, 6-2 victory over Amanda Bruscemi.
Batalla Trabal's match was the only one of the evening to enter a third set as she defeated The Rock's Allie Welch by scores of 6-0, 3-6, and 10-7.
The Fighting Scots return to the court on Saturday, April 16, hosting Seton Hill. That contest is the first of three straight home matches to conclude the regular season.
