EDINBORO, Pa. (April 17, 2016) – The Edinboro University women's tennis concluded a busy weekend of PSAC home matches on Sunday with a 9-0 win over Clarion. The Fighting Scots, after defeating Seton Hill on Saturday, 6-3, got their second straight conference win to move up to 13-7 and 2-3 in the PSAC West. The Golden Eagles dropped to 4-9 and 0-5 in the PSAC West.
The number-one doubles team of
Roxana Yeh and
Laura Lopez earned an 8-1 win over Alivia Arnold and Maria Snyder.
Lydia Browne and
Julia Hellstern improved to a team-best 12-6 record after defeating Sarah Robbins and Jessica Kennelly, 8-5, while
Nevena Kulina and Tatiana Batalla took an 8-3 victory over Michelle Petrilla and Allison Probst.
Edinboro claimed five singles matches in straight sets, while Hellstern took a three-set victory over Arnold, 6-0, 2-6 and 10-5. Yeh (17-4) captured her team-leading 17
th singles win of the year, defeating Kennelly, 6-4 and 6-2.
Jelena Vucenovic blanked Probst with matching 6-0 scores.
The Fighting Scots return to the court on Friday, April 22, hosting PSAC opponent Indiana (Pa.) in their regular season finale at 3:00 p.m.
