EDINBORO, Pa. (May 10, 2016) – A total of 13 Edinboro University men's track & field competitors will take part in the 2016 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Edinboro is one of 14 teams that will participate in the conference championships at Robert T. Maxson Track on the campus of Mansfield University from Thursday, May 12 to Saturday, May 14. The Fighting Scots finished ninth a year ago.
The Fighting Scots return a pair of All-PSAC performers from last year's outdoor championships.
Corey Wefing looks to defend his title in the 800m run, while
Elliott Martynkiewicz was third in the 5,000m run. Wefing currently owns the fifth-best time in the PSAC at 1:53.46. He won with a time of 1:52.88 last year. The sophomore has the top time in the conference in the 1,500m run.
A senior, Martynkiewicz earned All-American honors in the fall in cross country. He is once again entered in the 5,000m run, where his time of 14:06.12 ranks second in the PSAC and 12
th in Division II.
