Virginia Beach, Va. – The Edinboro indoor track & field standouts Connor Munson and Jada Cole each brought home All-American honors from the NCAA Indoor National Championships Friday and Saturday.
 
Munson was a First-Team All-American in the heptathlon posting an eighth-place finish with 5,260 points. He was 12^th after the first day of competition and turned in strong performances in the three events on Saturday to earn his first-team status. The highlight of the heptathlon for Munson was his first-place finish in the pole vault clearing 4.85 meters. His 8.52 in the 60 meter-hurdles was a personal best. He was fifth in the 1,000 meter in a time of 2:52.82.
 
Munson added this All-American honor to his outdoor decathlon second-team All-American award from last spring. He is the 24^th Fighting Scot men's athlete to earn multiple track & field All-American honors.
 
"I think both Jada and Connor did a fantastic job this weekend," said head track & field coach Taylor Cudquest. "Connor fought extremely hard for that First-Team All-American status. It came down to the wire in the 1,000-meter and it was a second that got him that first team place. Connor also broke his indoor school record in the pole vault.  I am very proud of him as he gave it everything he had."
 
On Friday, Cole competed in the high jump. She cleared 1.68 meters placing tied for 15^th earning her second-team All-American honors.
 
"Jada made her national championship debut as a freshman and she competed against a highly competitive field," said Cudquest. "She beat out a few athletes to secure Second Team All American and has a bright future ahead of her."
 
The Scots will jump right into the outdoor season next week beginning with the 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C.
