WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Edinboro University women's tennis team stayed perfect in the season's early going, picking up a 7-2 victory over Daemen to open the spring leg of their schedule to improve to 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Fighting Scots took five of six singles matches, all in straight sets. Tatiana Batalla notched her team-high fifth victory of the season to improve to 5-2 overall. Batalla defeated Daemen's Gretchen Ringler by scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
Batalla later teamed with
Julia Hellstern to defeat Ringler and Jessica Robins, 8-1. The duo improved to 3-1 on the season.
Anastasiya Dasik and
Jelena Vucenovic also notched their third victory of the season to improve to 3-1 on the year, defeating Daemen's Shaylah Iverson and Morgan Park, 8-2.
The Fighting Scots return to the courts on Friday, March 3, at 2 p.m. hosting Roberts Wesleyan.
