Men's Track & Field Team Ranked 20th in First USTFCCCA Outdoor Rankings

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Edinboro men's track & field team is ranked 20th in the first week of the NCAA Division II Men's Team Computer Rankings,  announced the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.

The National Team Computer Rankings are compiled by a mathematical formula based on the NCAA Division II Descending Order Lists.

Chico State is ranked number one, with Academy of Art second, and UC San Diego third. Angelo State is fourth and Eastern New Mexico rounds out the top five.

???????Edinboro began the outdoor season last week in the 49er Classic. The Fighting Scots of head coach Anne Carlson had numerous PSAC qualifying marks, led by Cory Wefing. The junior won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.94, good for third nationally. Wefing also finished third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:51.38. That ranks fifth in Division II. Gene Baritot finished in the 5000-meter run. His time of 14:43.33 ranks fifth nationally.

The Fighting Scots return to action on Saturday, March 25 in the Tennessee Rust Buster.
