Fighting Scots Blanked by IUP on Wednesday Afternoon

INDIANA, Pa. (March 29, 2017) – Just one day after opening their PSAC season with a win at California (Pa.), the Edinboro University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 contest at Indiana (Pa.) on Wednesday afternoon. The defeat ended the Fighting Scots' three-match winning streak as they fell to 7-3 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC. The Crimson Hawks climbed to 10-4 and a league-best 4-0 conference mark.

Edinboro was shutout in both number-one and number-three doubles, as well as number-two singles. The Fighting Scots were held to as much as just two points in any set Wednesday, with the Crimson Hawks posting all six singles wins in straight sets.

Head coach Lee Underwood's squad has four more PSAC matches to play, but not before heading down to West Virginia this weekend for a pair of non-conference contests. The Fighting Scots will take on Charleston on Friday at 6:30 p.m., followed by a match at West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday at 12:00 noon.
