NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Edinboro women's cross country fell one spot to second in the latest U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II Atlantic Region rankings.
Over the weekend, the Fighting Scots finished in second place among 17 teams in the 2018 PSAC Women's Cross Country Championships. Redshirt sophomore Hope Pietrocarlo was the top finisher for the Fighting Scots, as she came in seventh place with a time of 24:18. Two seconds after she finished the 6K race, senior Abbey Lang crossed the line for eighth at 24:20. Both Lang and Pietrocarlo received first team All-PSAC honors.
A trio of Fighting Scots went on to earn second team All-PSAC accolades. Sophomore's Stefanie Parsons and Tori Klimowicz finished in 16th and 17th, respectively, posting times of 24:45 and 24:46. Freshman Audrey MacPherson also received All-PSAC honors with a 27th place showing at 25:12.
Leading the Atlantic Region rankings is Shippensburg, who won Saturday's meet by four points. Edinboro is second and California (Pa.) jumped three spots to third. Seton Hill moved up a spot to fourth and Lock Haven fell two spots to round out the top five.
The Fighting Scots will return to action in two weeks on Saturday, November 17, competing in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.
