Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's cross country team tied East Stroudsburg with 77 total points, but the Scots finished second after the application of the tiebreaker Saturday afternoon at the Doug Watts Cross Country Course.
At the finish line, the Scots and Warriors were tied with both five scoring times adding up to 77 points. The team's runners 1-5 were compared head-to-head with East Stroudsburg taking three of the five head-to-heads to win the title.
Eliza Miller paced Edinboro placing fifth in a time of 22:42.3.
Madeline Hammond was next for the Scots crossing the line in 22:59.5 to take ninth.
The third finisher for the Scots was
Kadi Bauer in 12
th with a time of 23:08.0.
Katie Slimon finished in 23:21.1 good for 20
th. Katie Shope rounded out the scoring times taking 31
st in 23:48.6.
Jocelyn Wilson ran a 24:31.0 to take 65
th and Annika Von Ahnen was right behind her in 66
th with a time of 23:34.5.
Meryn Boardman was 87
th in a time of 25:11.3.
Morgan Brandis posted a time of 25:59.4 to take 109 and
Lily Bement was 110
th in 25:59.9.
Miller, Hammond and Bauer all earned First-Team All-PSAC honors for finishing inside the top 15 while Slimon was Second-Team All-PSAC.
The Scots will return to action with a chance to qualify for the NCAA National Championships on November 8 when they race at the NCAA Atlantic Regional in Lock Haven.
