Jacob Oliver Named EWL Wrestler of the Week

EDINBORO, Pa. – Edinboro University's Jacob Oliver (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) has been named the EWL Wrestler of the Week for the week ending December 23. Oliver picked up a pair of wins this past week as Edinboro hosted its first two dual meets of the season against Tennessee-Chattanooga and Kent State.

A redshirt freshman competing at 174 lbs., Oliver improved to 17-2 with the two victories last Tuesday night. He opened the evening with a 13-5 major decision over Hunter Fortner of Chattanooga.

Oliver took to the mat later in the evening against Kent State's Dylan Barreiro, and came away with a 3-2 victory. The two entered the third period tied at 2, but Oliver would ride out Barreiro over the two-minute period to record a riding time advantage of 1:47. The riding time point gave him the 3-2 decision.

Edinboro returns to the mat on January 1-2, competing in the Southern Scuffle.
