Box Score (New/Sortable Format) ERIE, Pa. – The Edinboro women's tennis team split singles while taking two of the three doubles matches to defeat Daemen College, 5-4 on Saturday evening.
The match was played on the indoor courts at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie.
The Fighting Scots picked up wins in two of the three doubles to stake the 2-1 heading into singles. Top pair of
Laura Lopez and Tatiana Batalla made did not waste time in their 8-2 win over Lorissa Yuen and Christina Stasiuk. At number three doubles,
Jelena Vucenovic and
Payton Tomasko earned the 8-4 win over Jessica Robins and Morgan Park.
Lopez made quick work of Yuen at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1 while Batalla won her number two singles match after Pachoalin retired in the first set.
Marija Tmusic clinched the match for Edinboro with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Robins. With the win, the Fighting Scots improve to 3-1 on the season.
The Fighting Scots will return to the Westwood Racquet Club on Tuesday, March 6 for an 11:00 a.m. match against Roberts Wesleyan.
