Women's Swimmers Improve to 2-0 with 80-22 Win at Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Edinboro women's swimming team improved to 2-0 on the young season with an 80-22 win at Tiffin. The Dragons fell to 0-3 with the loss.

The Fighting Scots had four different swimmers pick up three wins, including a pair of freshmen. Freshmen Makayla Scheu and Paige Smith were triple winners, along with Katelyn Kopacko and Yana Miletska.

The foursome started off the night with a win in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:48.44. Scheu would add the 50-yard freestyle (24.86) and 100-yard butterfly (1:00.64), while touched first in the 100-yard freestyle (56.06) and 1,000-yard freestyle (11:27.39). Kopacko picked up wins in the 200-yard IM (2:19.71) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.42). Finally, Miletska won the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.42) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.22).

In addition, the foursome of Melia Andruloins, Kara Miller, Kendall Peregrini, and Sydney Cade combined for a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:49.80).

Five women's swimmers registered PSAC-qualifying marks. They included:

Nicole Kadlecik – 50-yard freestyle – 25.48
Katelyn Kopacko – 100-yard breaststroke – 1:10.40
Yana Miletska – 100-yard backstroke – 1:00.42
Makayla Scheu – 50-yard freestyle (24.86); 100-yard butterfly – 1:00.64
Paige Smith – 100-yard freestyle -- 56.06

Edinboro returns to action on Friday, November 1 at Bloomsburg.
