  • The Short Story: Edinboro saw its three-match losing come to an end on Friday as defending PSAC champion Seton Hill defeated the Fighting Scots in three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-23, 25-20. Seton Hill dominated the first set, as Edinboro clawed its way back until falling late in sets two and three. The Griffins came in as the leader in the Southwest Division. Sophomore Sally Sterkel  paced the Fighting Scots with nine kills, while freshman Erica Sharp had seven, and Bella Burrelli  and Cierah Jackson had six kills apiece.  Molly Breier totaled 21 digs. Edinboro will continue its PSAC Tournament run on Saturday, hosting Cal U at 5 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Seton Hill took control early as the Griffins jumped out to a 9-3 lead thanks to a six point run. The lead would grow to 14-5, thanks in part to a five point run. Edinboro closed briefly to 15-7, but the Griffins went on another five point run to increase the lead to 20-7. Cierah Jackson led the Fighting Scots with four kills and Molly Breier  had four digs.
  • Set two was a different story, as it was a tight one all the way. Edinboro would jump out to grab an 8-7 lead but Seton Hill put together yet another 5-0 run to take the lead at 12-8. The Fighting Scots pulled within a point or two on several occasions, but could never grab the lead. Still trailing at 23-21, Edinboro would tie the score at 23-21 on an attack error by Seton Hill and a kill by Sally Sterkel. Jillian Livorse and Bobbi Rempe responded with kills for the Griffins as SHU won 25-23.
  • The third set was close, as well, but Seton Hill would close out the match with a 25-20 win. Edinboro was trailing 16-12 when the Fighting Scots rallied with its own 5-0 run for a 17-16 lead, the last point coming on a service ace by Bethany Miller. Unfortunately, the Griffins would score the next four points to take a 20-17 lead. Edinboro pulled no closer than 21-19 the rest of the way.
